🧁💙 Making a Real Difference in Our Community 💙🧁

Everyone at Heathfield Gardens is celebrating after another hugely successful bake sale, and this one has achieved something truly special!

Thanks to the incredible support of those who baked, donated, purchased treats, and took part, we have successfully raised the full amount needed to fund the local community bus for an entire year. 🎉

The impact of this achievement reaches far beyond fundraising. The community bus provides vital transport for older people in the local villages, enabling them to attend clubs, activities, and events at the church and village hall. These opportunities help reduce social isolation, strengthen community connections, and support positive physical and mental wellbeing.

By coming together for a simple bake sale, we have helped ensure that local people can continue to access friendship, social activities, and meaningful community involvement throughout the year.

This is a fantastic example of how community spirit, teamwork, and generosity can create lasting outcomes that improve lives and keep people connected.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this possible. Together, we've done something wonderful for our local community. ❤️

🦁 The Pride of Yorkshire Lion Trail at Good Days Project! 🦁

Over the past month, the people we support at Good Days Project have embraced the Pride of Yorkshire Lion Trail – a fantastic community initiative encouraging people to get out and about, explore different areas of Sheffield and beyond, and discover local landmarks while finding the beautifully decorated lions and cubs.

The trail has given everyone the opportunity to build confidence, increase physical activity, and strengthen friendships, all while enjoying new experiences within the community. From travelling to different locations to stopping for well-earned drinks and cake along the way, every outing has supported health, wellbeing, social inclusion, and meaningful community engagement.

To make things even more exciting, we turned the trail into a friendly competition! 🏆 Each group challenged themselves to visit as many locations as possible, take photographs with the lions and cubs, and see who could spot the most throughout the month.

After an incredible effort from everyone involved, Hayley has been crowned our overall winner after finding an astonishing over 100 lions and cubs! 🎉 She received a special Pride of Yorkshire certificate, a lion trophy, and of course plenty of applause from everyone at Good Days Project. 🦁

A huge shout-out also goes to Scott, who came incredibly close and kept the competition exciting right until the end!

We are so proud of everyone who took part. The enthusiasm, teamwork from the people we support and the staff team, determination, and sense of achievement shown throughout the trail has been amazing. Most importantly, the competition encouraged people to spend more time in their local communities, create lasting memories, try new places, build confidence, and have lots of fun along the way.

Well done everyone – you’ve all been absolutely roarsome! 🦁💙

🌻 Turning Ideas into Meaningful Experiences 🌻

At Westhead, the individuals we support recently enjoyed a wonderful visit to their local farm, bringing to life an idea that came directly from their empowerment meeting.

By sharing their thoughts and preferences, the ladies were able to shape an activity that mattered to them, demonstrating the importance of choice, independence, and having their voices heard. With support from the team, they spent the day enjoying the outdoors, connecting with their local community, and creating special memories together.

The ladies are also proud to share their beautiful new flowers, kindly planted by Christine alongside her key worker Holly.

In time they will provide a warm and colourful welcome for visitors and reflect the pride they take in their home.

It's amazing to see how listening to people's wishes and supporting them to achieve their goals can lead to greater confidence, wellbeing, and a stronger sense of belonging. 💐🐑🚜
