BRUM CIRCLE – SEPTEMBER

A small one-off date change for September — Brum Circle will be on Monday 28th September, 7–9pm, at The Old Print Works, Birmingham.

Brum Circle is a relaxed community support space to come together, connect, reflect, share and simply be around others. No pressure to talk, no previous experience needed — just come as you are.

I’ve always tried to keep the cost as low as possible, so tickets are just £5, which simply helps towards the cost of hiring the room and keeping the space running.

And if £5 is a barrier right now, please don’t let that stop you coming. There are free Community Support Tickets available, so feel completely comfortable booking one of those if you need it. No explanation needed. ❤️

Book here:

After September, Brum Circle will continue as usual on the last Tuesday of every month.

Hopefully see some of you there 🙏

A quick One Chance Mentoring update. 🌿

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has donated, shared the page and supported this journey. Every contribution is making a real difference.

This week we’ve helped young people access mentoring, support groups, work experience opportunities and their first boxing sessions. Sometimes it’s the smallest things—travel, a meal or simply opening a door—that can make the biggest difference.

If you’d like to support One Chance, donate here:
https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/one-chance-support-fund?utm_medium=FA&utm_source=CL

If you run a gym, café, community space, training provider or business and think you could offer an opportunity to a young person, I’d love to hear from you.

One conversation.
One opportunity.
One chance. 💙

Another beautiful Brum Circle tonight. 💛

Thank you to everyone who came and helped create such a grounded, honest and connected space.

There was laughter, silence, vulnerability and courage. Anger came into the room too, and it was a reminder that every emotion has a place. We don’t need to push difficult feelings away or judge them, sometimes they simply need to be seen, heard and understood.

For a couple of hours, we were able to put down the masks, slow things down and simply be ourselves.

🌿 Wild & Wise Group Therapy | This Wednesday | Penn, Buckinghamshire

This Wednesday we’re gathering once again for Wild & Wise, our monthly therapist-led group therapy circle in the heart of Penn.

Life can be busy. Sometimes we just need somewhere to pause, reflect and reconnect, with ourselves and with others.

Wild & Wise offers a confidential, professionally facilitated group therapy space where you’re welcome exactly as you are. There’s never any pressure to share, and everyone moves at their own pace.

We’re committed to keeping the space accessible, with First Session Tickets (£7), Early Bird tickets (£15) and a number of free Community Supported Tickets available for anyone experiencing financial hardship.

🎟️ Book here:

This will be our last Wild & Wise session before we take a break in August. We’ll return refreshed in September, continuing on the last Wednesday of every month.

Come as you are. Leave feeling a little lighter. 💚

Wellbeing Support Reflection

A quick One Chance update.

Firstly, thank you.

We’ve now raised £150 through the One Chance Support Fund, and I’m genuinely blown away by everyone’s generosity.

Every penny goes directly towards supporting the young people I’m mentoring. My time is completely voluntary, and I cover my own travel and expenses.

Here’s what donations can do:

• £5.60 can cover a Day Saver so a young person can attend mentoring, interviews or positive activities.
• £7 can pay for a boxing or gym session to help build routine, confidence and discipline.
• £10 can provide food and a coffee while we sit down together to make a plan.
• Larger donations help remove the practical barriers that stop young people accessing opportunities.

The support is already making a real difference, and I’m excited to keep sharing the journey as One Chance grows.

If you’d like to support the project, the donation link is below:

https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/one-chance-support-fund?utm_medium=FA&utm_source=CL

You can also help in other ways.

If you run a gym, boxing club, café, community venue, wellbeing service or business and could offer training, work experience, employment opportunities, discounted sessions or simply a safe space for mentoring meetings, I’d love to hear from you.

Together we can give more young people the opportunity they deserve.

Thank you again for believing in One Chance. 💙

Last night reminded me why Brum Circle exists.

Eight people. Four men. Four women.

Different ages, different cultures, different life experiences… yet so much shared humanity.

We spent the evening reflecting on what we’re carrying, what we need to let go of, what fills our cup, and what helps us stay connected to ourselves and to others.

One theme that gently emerged throughout the evening was shame. How quietly it can shape the way we see ourselves, encourage us to hide behind masks, and convince us we’re alone in what we’re carrying.

Yet so often, when we speak those experiences aloud in a safe community, we begin to realise that much of the shame we’ve carried was never really ours to hold in the first place.

One thing that really stood out was this: when people feel genuinely seen and heard, it creates space. Space to breathe. Space to reflect. Space to let go of what no longer serves us, and to welcome something new.

There was no pressure to have the right words or to have everything figured out. Just people showing up as they are, listening with kindness, and reminding one another that none of us has to carry life completely alone.

Thank you to everyone who came and helped create such a warm, welcoming space.

If you’re looking for a relaxed community where you can connect with others, you’re always welcome to join us the last Tuesday of every month at The Sound School Birmingham (Upstairs at The Old Print Works Building) Moseley Rd, Birmingham

Connection really is the medicine. ❤️

First donation in for One Chance 💙

Just wanted to say a genuine thank you to everyone who has liked, shared, messaged, donated or offered support so far.

A special thank you to Paul from BCB / Black Country Boxing for helping open up a possible boxing route for one of the young people I’m supporting. These are the kind of links that can help build routine, confidence and a different environment around someone.

The conversations already happening are showing just how real some of the barriers are — Universal Credit, travel costs, temporary housing, low confidence, lack of routine, single-parent families, and young people trying to work out who they are and what they want to become.

This isn’t about fixing people.

It’s about helping create what might be missing around them.

And as it’s Father’s Day, I also wanted to send a thought out to the dads who might not be seeing their children today. I’ve been there myself, and I know how hard that can feel. A therapist once told me, “just be the lighthouse.” Keep shining your light. Keep showing up where you can. Keep trying.

Thank you again to everyone supporting One Chance.

One conversation.
One opportunity.
One chance.
