You bought the expensive deep conditioner. You left it in for 30 minutes. And your hair still feels dry.

The problem isn't what you're using. It's how you're using it. We hope this helps.

Do you use heat with your deep conditioner? Yes or no ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

When was the last time you actually took time for yourself? This is what happens when you finally give yourself permission to slow down and be taken care of. We sat her down. Gave her the time she needed. And sent her back into the world looking like she just returned from a spa weekend.

At Tete Hazel, we create more than hairstyles. We create space for you to breathe.

Uneven growth isn't random. It's telling you something. The middle of your head gets the least tension. No tight ponytails pulling. No edges being slicked. No friction from pillows (because you sleep on your sides, not the crown). The sides and edges? They're taking all the damage.

Here's how to fix it:

1) Stop putting your hair in the same style every single day. If you always do a top bun, your edges will suffer. Rotate your styles.

2) When you do protective styles, tell your stylist to go lighter on the perimeter. Tighter doesn't mean longer-lasting. It means hair loss.

So we gave her exactly that. This is the style for the woman who wants to protect her hair without losing her softness, feeling light without stiffness. Beauty that moves with her, not against her.

Low porosity hair needs less protein and more moisture. Your cuticles are tight. Protein builds up on the outside instead of penetrating.

High porosity hair NEEDS protein. Your cuticles are open and damaged. Protein fills in the gaps and stops breakage.

The balance: protein and moisture work together. Never one without the other.

If you do a protein treatment, follow it immediately with a deep moisturizing conditioner. If your hair feels hard after protein, you overdid it. Scale back next time.

Do you know your hair's porosity? Drop it below: low, normal or high ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

She sent us a Pinterest board we sent her home feeling gorgeous. We custom designed this style just for her face shape and personal style. Itโ€™s not a template. Itโ€™s not what we did for the last client. Itโ€™s hers.

At Tete Hazel, we listen to what you want and then we bring the expertise to make it happen. Your vision meets our skill. That's the collaboration.

Someone on TikTok said to wash once a month and now everyone has buildup and wonders why their products don't work. Let's get this straight, your wash schedule should be based on YOUR scalp. Not a trend.

If your scalp is oily by day three, waiting a month isn't "protecting your hair." It's creating a breeding ground for product buildup, clogged follicles and slow growth.

If your hair is bone dry and low porosity, washing weekly might strip it. Two weeks could be your sweet spot. Here's the only rule that matters: wash when your scalp feels dirty or itchy. Not when a schedule tells you to.

How often do you wash your hair? Letโ€™s talk in the comments
