🥰You know you’ve found your kind of Yoga class when there are more bolsters than egos in the room 🥰
At ESY we’re BIG fans of props!
💜Blocks? Love them.
💜Blankets? Essential.
💜Bolsters? Basically emotional support cushions.
Yoga isn’t about forcing yourself into shapes your body hates, or that somebody says it should look like. It’s about feeling supported, comfortable and able to actually breathe while you’re there.
In our classes, props are tools that help make Yoga feel better, they are NEVER offered as a “oh you can’t do this pose, use a block instead” modification.
Once you’ve started using props in a pose, you’ll never look back! For me, it took Extended Side Angle from a real struggle to “ooh actually this feels good!”
If using three blankets, two blocks and a bolster to relax is wrong, well then I don’t want to be right. 🤪
