In May this year the team travelled out to the beautiful town of Manthali in rural Nepal to deliver a LifePak 20e, hard paddles, consumables and a hefty stack of ALS and ATLS textbooks. The journey took us 6 hours over landing over rocky terrain and areas of collapsed highway following heavy rains and landslides. Prior to the project Tamakoshi Hospital had no defibrillator leaving the local community without access to crucial lifesaving care. Following dropping off the equipment and testing it in its new home, we also led advanced life support teaching and a session on use of this specific defibrillator. These sessions were assisted by our fantastic colleague in ED at home Dr Vish Patel, who joined remotely.
This project couldn't have taken place without the support of our wonderful donors. Thank you so much for your continued support of the charity, we hope to reach many more communities in the coming years.
If you feel able to donate to further projects please find the donation link in our bio. If you wish to get involved in future projects, whether that be through fundraising or through offering your practical support we always welcome volunteers. Feel free to reach out to us via Instagram or email.
We will also be writing up a blog summary of this year's project very soon so stay tuned! ⛰️🗻
