💙 Ambassador Spotlight: Meet Rochelle

This week we’re introducing Rochelle, one of our incredible Freeater Ambassadors!

Based in South Wales, Rochelle’s journey with dietary requirements began at 18 after months of hospital visits, testing and searching for answers. Today, she navigates life with gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, IBS and Fibromyalgia, giving her first-hand experience of the challenges many people face when eating out.

One of the biggest frustrations?

Finding meals that are both gluten and dairy free without being limited to just salads or vegan options.

For Rochelle, eating with confidence means being able to enjoy the whole dining experience — from being asked the right questions by staff, to seeing a dedicated gluten-free menu, to enjoying great food without worrying about the consequences later.

Her message is one we can all learn from:

💭 “Dietary requirements aren’t people being ‘fussy’ — they can seriously impact someone’s health and wellbeing.”

We’re so excited to have Rochelle as part of the Freeater community and helping others discover places they can eat with confidence.

🎉 Celebrating 21 years of the Young Wolverhampton Coeliac Group!

Last weekend, we joined their incredible anniversary event alongside local families, businesses, and community members who are helping make life easier for people living with coeliac disease.

From gluten-free treats and inspiring conversations to meeting the Mayor and hearing people’s stories, it was a brilliant reminder of the power of community.

One of our favourite moments was speaking to so many parents, children, and adults who were excited to hear about Freeater and our upcoming children’s book. Hearing your experiences, challenges, and ideas continues to shape everything we do.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, shared their journey, and supported our mission to help people eat out with confidence.

💛 Were you there? Let us know your favourite part of the day below.

🚫 MYTH OR FACT? 🚫

“”A tiny crumb of gluten won’t hurt someone with coeliac disease.””

❌ MYTH

For people with coeliac disease, even tiny amounts of gluten can trigger an immune response that damages the small intestine which is why avoiding cross-contamination is so important.

Understanding the facts helps create safer experiences when eating out, cooking for others, or sharing food with friends and family 💚
