When I first got into running my own business, I had many mentors and coaches tell me I had to narrow down and become an expert in one narrow field - there was no chance my brain would ever let me do that. They would quote 'Jaclnof all trades, master of none'...

Thing is, that was an incomplete quote. The complete quote is: "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one."

I have always rejected the idea that there is only one 'model' or technique for working with the body and nervous system.

While I find myself drawn to some modalities more than others, my curiosity has me exploring, being curious, exploring some more...

I never want to get to a place where I think I have all the answers.

The body is amazing and I continue to explore and deliver.

I recently came across a social media post defending the use of a trademarked model of anatomy.
The argument was familiar: all models are imperfect, but they don't have to be perfect, they just have to be useful.

And in one sense, perhaps that's true.
Every model is wrong.

The problem is that some models are more wrong than others, and some limitations matter more than others.
As educators, clinicians, and therapists, our responsibility is not simply to give students a model that is easy to remember. Our responsibility is to help them understand reality as accurately as possible, while equipping them with the tools to adapt when new evidence emerges.

A model can be useful.
A model can organise information.
A model can create a shared language within a community.

But what happens when the model becomes more important than the reality it is supposed to describe?

What happens when learners are encouraged to fit what they see into the model, rather than allowing their observations to challenge the model?
What happens when the language of the model replaces the language of anatomy?
This is where the ethical question begins.

Education should expand a student's ability to think, not narrow it.
It should increase curiosity, not reduce it.
It should encourage exploration, not allegiance.

When we know a model oversimplifies the complexity of the human body, ignores contradictory evidence, or encourages "parts thinking" where systems thinking is needed, we have a responsibility to be honest about those limitations.
The goal of anatomy education should never be to create followers of a model.
The goal should be to create practitioners who can think critically, observe carefully, and adapt their understanding as knowledge evolves.

Models are tools.
They are not truths.

And the moment we forget that distinction, we stop teaching anatomy and start teaching belief systems.

I don't know about you, but I am exhausted with the noise in the wellbeing world.
Another supplement. Another class. Another fad. Another empty promise that this one thing will sort everything.

You don't need more. There are no magic pills, supplements, trademarked treatments or single exercises that will fix it. It will be a unique to you, consistent lifestyle change - that works for you and is sustainable for you... I'm sorry it's not more sexy!

If you are anything like me, you have probably spent £££ (amounts you don't even want to add up) on the next amazing thing. Maybe it did something, maybe it didn't. You're genuinely not sure. And yet here you are, still looking.

What actually helped me in the long run was taking a pause, evaluating all of my current lifestyle habits, and looking at what I had to let go of, including expectations, and what I needed to bring in to create real change. And sorry, but not sorry, it's the simple stuff: sleep, hydration, the right kinds of movement, food, stress management. Removing the toxic substances. And not just the obvious ones. The doom scrolling, the binge watching, the habits we've quietly picked up to take the edge off. Those count too. And having meaningful connections, because we all need at least one good pal.

We need to finally look at the whole picture.

Your body isn't broken. It's communicating, sending messages, calling for attention.

The exhaustion, the pain. That's information. And when you understand what it's telling you, you can stop working against yourself and start making changes that actually hold.

So what does working with me look like?

- Hands-on bodywork that goes beyond the symptom. Gentle touch that encourages your nervous system to adapt and find a more relaxed state when you need it.

- Movement sessions that teach you how your fascia, lymph, muscles, bones and breath all work together, so what happens in class starts showing up in how you feel the rest of the week.

- Energy & Sound healing when you just want to lie there and let the vibration work it's magic, answer your questions, show you another way, or let you drift into a deep snooze.

I help you create the space, whether that's on the table, in a session, or in an online class from your own living room, to clear the noise so you can hear your own instincts again.

I don't want to add more to your list. I want to help you get more from what you're already doing.

You don't need someone to fix you. You need someone to help you understand what your body is already trying to tell you, and space to start listening.

🎟️ Tickets: Booking required via Eventbrite (link in comments)
Our tickets are on a pay-what-you-can basis to ensure accessibility, with the option of choosing between the following tickets:

• donation basis (pay-what-you-can) open to anyone, especially if you would otherwise struggle attending

• £8.50 standard ticket

• Solidarity ticket: pay more to allow those with less financial means to attend for less, and help us cover our running costs

We won't ask for any proof of why you chose a certain ticket type, we trust your honesty ☺️

Why is the event ticketed?
Nearly all of our events and activities at Springburn Auditorium are free. If you have the means, please consider making a financial contribution.

We hope you can join us 👋🍿
