It’s okay not to feel okay.
We often put so much pressure on ourselves to keep smiling, stay positive, and hold everything together. Sometimes when I’m struggling, I feel embarrassed or stressed, as though I have a version of myself that I need to maintain for everyone else. But the truth is, we’re human. We aren’t meant to be happy, strong, or productive every single day.
The difficult days don’t take away from the good ones. In fact, they often help us appreciate moments of joy, peace, and happiness even more when they arrive. Without the contrast, we wouldn’t recognise those moments so deeply.
It’s okay to sit with your thoughts and feelings rather than pushing them away. It’s okay to acknowledge that you’re having a hard day. You don’t always need to fix it, explain it, or hide it. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do for yourself is simply allow yourself to feel what you’re feeling.
Every emotion has something to teach us, and every season passes. Be gentle with yourself while you move through it.
