**“I’m fine.”**

How many times have you said those two words when you were anything but fine?

Men are often taught from a young age to be strong.

*Don’t cry.*
*Get on with it.*
*Man up.*
*Be the provider.*
*Keep your problems to yourself.*

But feelings don’t disappear simply because we don’t talk about them.

They can come out as anger. Irritability. Drinking. Working constantly. Withdrawing from people. Relationship problems. Anxiety. Feeling numb. Or simply feeling like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.

**Talking isn’t weakness.**

Actually, recognising that something isn't right and having the courage to do something about it takes strength.

Therapy gives you somewhere to put down the armour for a while.

No judgement. No lectures. No expectation that you have to have all the answers.

Just a confidential space to talk, understand what’s happening and begin making sense of things.

If you’ve been thinking *“I should probably talk to someone”* for a while…

**Maybe this is your sign.**

**You don’t have to keep struggling on your own.**

Sometimes we become so good at saying *“I’m fine”* that we forget to ask ourselves whether we actually are.

You might be functioning. Going to work. Looking after everyone else. Smiling, laughing and getting through the day.

But underneath it all, you may feel exhausted, anxious, overwhelmed, angry, disconnected or simply… stuck.

Therapy isn’t about being told what to do. It’s about having a safe, confidential space where you can finally talk openly — without judgement, without having to pretend and without worrying about what someone else needs from you.

At **Authentic Minds Counselling**, I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma and life changes.

You don't need to wait until things become unbearable before asking for help.

**Sometimes the bravest thing you can say is: “I’m not okay, and I need some help.”**

If you’re ready to talk, I’m here to listen. ❤️

Stress doesn't need a "big enough" reason to be worth talking about. You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy — sometimes it's just about having a space to breathe and think clearly again.

I offer in-person sessions for anxiety and stress. A few spots have opened up for new clients for September

Feeling anxious doesn't always look like panic. Sometimes it looks like:

Trouble switching off at night
Snapping at people you love
Constantly feeling "on edge" for no clear reason
Avoiding things that used to feel easy

If any of this sounds familiar, you're not broken — and you don't have to white-knuckle your way through it. Therapy can help you understand what's driving it and build real tools to manage it.

📍 Currently taking on new clients from September; limited slots. 👉

🧠 "Feeling overwhelmed doesn't mean something is wrong with you — it often means you're carrying more than one person should carry alone. Reaching out isn't weakness; it's self-awareness."

**You don’t have to wait until you’re falling apart to ask for help.**

Sometimes you’re functioning. You’re going to work, looking after everyone else, smiling, getting on with life…

…but inside, you’re exhausted.

You might be overthinking everything. Struggling with confidence. Feeling angry, anxious, lost or disconnected. Maybe something happened years ago that you’ve never really dealt with.

Therapy isn't about being told what to do.

It’s about having a safe, confidential space where you can finally talk openly, without judgement, and begin to understand **why you feel the way you do.**

At **Authentic Minds Counselling**, I work with adults from all walks of life, including people dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, childhood trauma and men’s mental health.

You don't need to have all the answers before you start.

Sometimes the first step is simply saying:

**“I’m not okay, and I think I need some help.”**

💬 "Try this simple grounding technique next time anxiety creeps in: name 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, 1 you can taste. It brings your mind back to the present moment."

🌱 "Healing isn't linear. Some days will feel like progress, others like you're back at square one — and both are part of the process."
