What a wonderful day we had with our residents on a fantastic steam train fish and chip experience! 🚂🐟🍟

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the journey, taking in the beautiful scenery while travelling on the traditional steam train. The delicious fish and chips were a real treat and brought plenty of smiles all round.

To make the day even more special, we stopped for ice creams on the way home, which were enjoyed by everyone in the sunshine! 🍦☀️

It was lovely to see so much laughter, conversation, and happiness throughout the day. Creating memorable experiences like these is so important, and we are delighted that our residents had such a wonderful time.

🏆🐎 What an amazing event! 🐎🏆

Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming friends, families and the wider community into Meadowbrook for our Royal Ascot Soirée.

There was lots of fizz, good food and laughs. We had the pleasure of a classical music duet throughout the afternoon and fun games afterwards.

This year, all six of our Connaught Care Collection homes are coming together to celebrate Care Home Open Week with a fantastic World Cup themed programme of events, and everyone in our local communities are invited to join us, including you!

Care Home Open Week is a wonderful opportunity to open our doors, showcase life within our homes, and bring together residents, families, neighbours, local businesses, healthcare professionals and community groups for a week of connection, fun and celebration.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of inducting our next round of volunteers from The Bishops Stortford High School.

From September the volunteers will be leading weekly activities for our residents. This is such a great opportunity for both the volunteers and our residents.

The connections that will be built will be extremely special. It is so important for us here at Meadowbrook to keep our residents integrated in our local community and what better way that to have this close partnership with our local secondary school!

Kelly works for Allsorts a dementia community in Sawbridgeworth and here at Meadowbrook we love to support local charities so we all provided Allsorts with a £35 voucher for them to buy resources for the community they provide! ✨

Creating welcoming spaces for our residents and their families is a top priority for us, and our children's entertainment room holds a special place in our hearts. This vibrant space is not only a favourite among our residents but also a valued resource for our local community, particularly during our weekly visits from Happy Kids Day Care. It allows for joyful interactions between our residents and their families.
One resident's daughter beautifully expressed the impact of this room: "The playroom (Clown Town!) has been a godsend each week when we bring our young granddaughter in to visit. She has a wonderful time, and my mother (and many others) thoroughly enjoy watching her play. It really helps create a happy family atmosphere."
We are thrilled to provide this nurturing environment that fosters connections and brings smiles to both our residents and their loved ones.

🍫☕️ What a lovely afternoon ☕️🍫

We had the pleasure of visiting The Secret Truffletier this week! We enjoyed chocolates, milkshakes and ice creams and brought back chocolates for those who couldn’t make the trip! 🍫🧋🍦

It was an afternoon filled with singing on the minibus there and back, lots of dad/grandad jokes and giggles and good company! 🎶

We can’t wait to go back to do one of the chocolate experiences that look so delicious! 🍫☕️
