It has been a while coming, but finally we have a new blog up and waiting for readers to home in on it!

Called 'Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) for Men', the article covers the plusses and minuses of BHRT in men, including why it is so rarely offered by medical practices, and never by the NHS.

The very real benefits to men of BHRT are summarised, such as increases in strength, stamina and energy levels, improved libido and mental acuity, plus generally better physical and mental health, to name just the most obvious.

We then look at the BHRT programme we provide for men, including the use of testosterone, progesterone and DHEA, as well as a number of supplements. We also cover the hugely important steps taken to protect the prostate gland from potential damage.

HRT medicines are in short supply at the NHS!

As a result, menopausal women in the UK are suffering, and yet they really don’t need to! Life and work should not be affected! We should be blossoming and feeling energetic and positive, whatever our age.

The UK HRT hormone shortage is not universal. All the hormone medications we use at H**e Medical are available and NOT in short supply. This includes our oestradiol patches and cremes.

It's all about the ins and outs of the best ways someone receiving bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) should take their hormones, based on:

a) They're all fat-soluble, but not soluble in water, and
b) Some should be taken as capsules (eg DHEA and progesterone), while others need to be absorbed through the skin (eg testosterone and oestradiol).

Also covered is the importance of not making unilateral changes to what you take - don't start skipping one hormone or the other in order to save money. It could have disastrous consequences for your health. So always consult with Dr Drucker before making any changes.

We know that the Oestrogel shortages have proven to be incredibly stressful for our patients and is causing a lot of anxiety for women undergoing HRT treatment. Besin Healthcare, the manufacturer of Oestrogel and Utrogestan have informed us stock will be back soon, but they can’t say when.

At Roseway Labs we are able to compound bespoke BHRT gel, which could serve as a suitable if not more preferable alternative!

Apologies for being so dormant on FB for so long: now is the time to start correcting that problem!

To do that, I'm kicking off with a note about our latest blog (something else that has been dormant until recently!). Posted a few days ago is a blog about the taking of supplements to support and boost the effectiveness of our bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) programmes.

Although not intended as a complete overview of supplements, this article focusses on those supplements that I recommend as standard to all my BHRT patients. It covers the use of such minerals as Boron, Copper and Zinc, as well as the B, C, D and K vitamins, plus a few other components.

Although targeted mainly for BHRT patients, the supplements described in this article are important for just about anyone, particularly those in middle age and above. So, the information is highly relevant for everyone.

In particular, vitamin D is enormously important since the great majority of people are deficient in this vitamin, particularly in winter. Hugely important in immunity, keeping vitamin D levels up is a major aid to protecting yourself against colds, flu and Covid. So reading this article will help to tell you what to do.

What would we be without totally derma?? It has been and still is incredibly amazing for me and all my patients for an endless list of reasons .

Coming up to halfway through England's second Covid lockdown, now seems to remind everyone that:

H**E MEDICAL REMAINS OPEN!

Since we are a medical practice, we are able to continue working, at least for all our medical treatments.

These include:

All our BHRT treatments, consultations and reviews, whether you've been with us for several years or are a brand new patient looking for help;

Issuing prescriptions for all hormones and other medicines. Our laboratories and pharmacies continue working as normal, so tests and prescriptions continue unaffected;

Botulinum toxin A treatment for hyperhidrosis, migraine headaches and jaw muscle relaxation (eg in epilepsy);

Carboxytherapy treatment for such conditions as tendinitis (tennis elbow), joint injuries, and scar damage.

So if you're receiving any of these treatments from me there is no need for you to hide away and suffer without treatment. You can continue to come to me for any medically-oriented treatment you need.
