For some time, I have freely given my time, support, advice and resources to help others. Whether it has been offering guidance, creating opportunities, sharing knowledge or simply being there when needed, I have always been happy to give without expecting anything in return.

Today, I am asking for a little support in return. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help us continue making a difference through Horses for Causes. People cross our paths every day. Some are fleeting encounters – a simple nod, a smile, or a polite “good morning” as we pass by. Others step into our lives more deeply, and we choose to share our time, our thoughts, and our experiences with them.

Each person we meet leaves something behind: a lesson, a memory, a challenge, or a moment of kindness. Some help us grow, some inspire us to see things differently, and some remind us of who we are. We may not always realise the impact these connections have at the time, but often it is through relationships with others that we learn about trust, resilience, compassion, and ourselves.

Whether a person remains in our life for a moment, a season, or a lifetime, every encounter has the potential to shape our journey. By being open to others, embracing differences, and valuing the connections we make, we create opportunities for learning, growth, and meaningful experiences that enrich our lives in ways we could never have predicted.

A Fabulous Day Exploring Resilience! 🐴🌟

What an amazing day we had exploring the meaning of resilience. There was plenty of curiosity at the beginning of the workshop, and by the end there were lots of smiles, laughter, and a real sense of achievement.

Together we explored some big questions. What is important to us when English is not our first language? How do we adapt to new situations? How much trust do we place in others to help keep us safe? How can we open ourselves up to new learning opportunities and experiences?

We also discussed whether wealth is important. Do we need lots of money to be happy and successful? The answer sparked some thoughtful conversations! We explored what it means to feel safe and how different people may define safety in different ways.

Of course, no Horses for Causes workshop would be complete without horses, teamwork, and fun. The ever-popular Sharks and Explorers game was a huge hit, challenging participants to work together, solve problems, and support one another. Our intrepid explorers successfully managed to get their pack pony and most of their essential equipment safely across the river, demonstrating determination, communication, and resilience along the way.

Days like these remind us that resilience isn't about never facing challenges—it's about learning, adapting, supporting each other, and finding the confidence to keep moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who took part and made the day such a success. We can't wait for the next adventure!

Anyone who owns horses knows they're not a cheap hobby! Our small herd helps us support children, young people, and families through a range of wellbeing, learning, and confidence-building activities. Most of our income comes from private clients, but we want to do so much more.

We are looking to expand our "Pony With a Purpose" programme, taking our ponies beyond the yard and into the community. A visit from one of our special ponies to a hospice, nursing home, hospital, or community setting could make all the difference to someone's day.

A gentle nuzzle, a shared memory, a smile from someone who rarely smiles, or simply a moment of connection can have a powerful impact. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the comfort, companionship, and joy that ponies can bring.

To make this possible, we need additional funding to help cover training, equipment, transport, insurance, and the ongoing care of our wonderful herd.

Every donation, sponsorship, fundraiser, and share helps us take our ponies to the people who need them most.
