Today is all about celebrating our four-legged friends and the happiness, companionship and unconditional love they bring into our lives.

We know how important pets can be to the people we support, they're not just pets, they're family!

Aw, this is wonderful news!!

One of our service users was recently supported and encouraged to obtain a new wheelchair. Despite having extensive adaptations made to his home, including lifts and widened doorways, he rarely ventured outside and spent most of his time in his bedroom.

Fast forward to today, and what a transformation! With his new wheelchair, he has independently taken himself to the local shop and then on to the pub. As I write this, he's sitting in the sunshine enjoying a pint while waiting for his support worker to collect him. ☀️🍺

It's amazing how something that may seem quite small can have such a huge impact on someone's independence, confidence, wellbeing, and outlook on life. Today isn't just about a new wheelchair; it's about freedom, choice, community, and getting part of his life back!

Over the last couple of weeks, Nina has been supporting a lady whose health has sadly deteriorated.

As her needs changed, Nina worked closely with district nurses and the hospice team, making sure her wishes remained at the centre of her care. When hospice care was first discussed, she wasn't ready.

A few days later, she made the decision herself that she was ready to go. Nina was there to support her through that decision helping the hospice team prepare her belongings, making sure she had what she needed, and staying alongside her until the ambulance arrived.

It was a sad moment, but Nina's care showed something incredibly important: Sometimes good care isn't about doing more. It's about listening, respecting someone's choices and making sure they don't have to face a difficult moment alone.

We're incredibly proud of Nina. ❤️

Tiny Things That Matter!
We had another unexpected visitor at the office this week, a burying beetle!
They might look a little unusual, but these incredible insects are one of nature's clean-up crews, helping recycle wildlife in the natural world.
This little one had become trapped indoors and was exhausted. After a drink and being safely released outside, it was soon on its way again.
We believe kindness isn't just about the big moments. Sometimes it's about taking a minute to help something small that can't help itself.
