I know we’ve been sharing little clues for a few weeks now, but there has been so much happening behind the scenes to make sure everything is right before we launch.

We’re almost ready to share a new way for individuals and families to arrange care directly with Cherish, using the same trusted teams, experience and personal approach we’ve always been proud of.

We’ve put a lot of thought into making the process feel simple, flexible and reassuring from the very first enquiry, and I’m really excited to finally show you what we’ve been working on.

We love this photo because it shows what care can really look like, not just support at home, but getting out, enjoying the fresh air and spending time with someone you trust.

For us, care that fits around you means listening to how someone wants to live their life and finding ways to support that, without taking away their choices or independence.

The right care should help you remain safe, confident and independent, while continuing to enjoy your own home, follow your usual routines and make your own choices. 🏡

For one person, that might mean a little help with everyday tasks. For another, it could mean companionship, reassurance or more regular care and support.

Because everyone is different, care should never feel one-size-fits-all. It should be flexible, personal and built around what matters most to you.

💜 Something special is coming to Cherish… 💜

For over 21 years, Cherish has provided trusted care and support to people across our communities.

Now, we’re preparing to make our established home care service available in a new way.

Soon, individuals and families who wish to arrange and fund their own care will be able to access trusted Cherish support directly.

This service is being designed for people who want choice, flexibility and control over the care they receive, whether that means a little extra help each week, companionship and reassurance, support with everyday routines, or more regular care at home.

It will be the same compassionate approach, experienced care teams and commitment to quality that Cherish is already known for, with flexible options created specifically for private clients and their families.

We’re not sharing all the details just yet. Over the coming weeks, we’ll reveal more about the support available, how it will work and how families can stay connected with their loved one’s care.

Dolly Miles (Doralee Miles) the recipient of the 2025 Janice Kemp Award for Excellence.

Dolly joined our team in May 2024, and in just 12 months she has made an extraordinary impact. During this time, she has been mentioned 21 times, by 7 different clients, across 21 separate compliment entries, a remarkable achievement that truly reflects the standard of care she provides.

One moment that perfectly captures Dolly’s dedication was her work with a client who had not left her home for many years due to anxiety. With patience, reassurance, and genuine compassion, Dolly gradually built trust and confidence, eventually supporting her to venture outside for social visits to places such as garden centres and cafés. When this milestone was reached, Dolly was overwhelmed with emotion, sharing tears of joy for her client’s achievement. Shortly afterwards, the client’s son contacted the office, also deeply emotional, to express his gratitude for the life-changing support Dolly had given his family.

Clients regularly speak about the positive impact Dolly has on their lives. One client shared how joyful and uplifting Dolly is during every visit, while another celebrated when hearing Dolly was scheduled, saying she always lifts her mood when she’s feeling low.

Dolly is an exceptional carer who consistently goes above and beyond. She builds strong, trusting relationships and always places dignity, wellbeing, and individual needs at the heart of her work. Her compassion, dedication, and high standards embody everything the Janice Kemp Award represents.
