Autumn always makes me think of apples, brambles and the lovely scents of the countryside at this time of year!

Our Apple & Bramble fragrance was inspired by memories of my father, making it one that's particularly special to me.

It's a lovely way of bringing a little of the Galloway countryside into your home, and feels just right for this time of year.

There's something about autumn that makes me reach for warmer, more comforting fragrances!

Our Bergamot & Ginger is one of my favourites at this time of year, combining fresh, uplifting citrus with the gentle warmth of ginger.

It's a lovely fragrance for the cooler months and has also proved a popular choice with our hospitality customers.

How are we halfway through the school holidays already?!

It's lovely to have some family time and a slightly slower pace, although there's always something going on behind the scenes at Bladnoch Botanics!

I've been doing plenty of thinking and planning for the months ahead. Lots of ideas, exciting opportunities and plenty to look forward to!

I'm delighted to share that the Rowan & Bracken Hand Wash and Hand Lotion will now be stocked at Galloway Distillery!

This fragrance was developed especially for the distillery, with their input on the botanicals they use in their gin.

I really enjoyed the challenge of creating something a little different, bringing together the character of their gin with the natural inspiration of the Galloway landscape.

The result is a wonderfully distinctive, gin-inspired fragrance, and I've been so pleased with the lovely feedback it's received so far.

It's always a pleasure to work with other local businesses, and I'm particularly proud of this collaboration!

I have made another batch of the Seaweed & Aloe Vera Nourishing Cream.

I completely sold out during Wigtown Book Festival, which was lovely, although it meant I had a few orders to catch up on.

The new batch is now ready, those orders have been fulfilled, and I have plenty of jars available again. They are proving very popular though, so don't leave it too long if you'd like one.

What a beautiful Sunday morning in Bladnoch — blue skies and a perfect day to get outside!

After a busy few weeks, I’m looking forward to a little family time and enjoying the beautiful area we’re lucky enough to call home.

The Galloway coast, hills, woodland and changing seasons are a huge part of the inspiration behind Bladnoch Botanics.

And just like that… it’s the school holidays! I’m really not quite sure where that term disappeared to.

After a very busy few weeks of markets, the Book Festival pop-up and keeping Bladnoch Botanics stocked in between, I’m looking forward to spending a bit more family time over the next couple of weeks.

It’s also my birthday today, so I've also had a very chilled day!

Back to Five to Thrive today and this week we were tackling finances!

It was a really informative session, covering everything from forecasting and cashflow to invoicing, tax returns and Making Tax Digital, as well as touching on Excel and some of the different accounting tools available.

It will definitely make me concentrate a bit more on forecasting and cashflow. As Bladnoch Botanics grows, there seems to be an ever-increasing number of figures, costs, stock levels and sales to keep track of — so anything that helps make that side of the business a little more efficient has to be a good thing!

That’s the pop-up shop packed away for another year!

A huge thank you to everyone who called in during Wigtown Book Festival — whether you bought something, came back for a refill, stopped for a chat or discovered Bladnoch Botanics for the first time. It’s always such a lovely week to be part of.

A special thank you to Ken, who was a brilliant support throughout (and especially with all the setting up and packing away!), and to Sarah from The Old Bookies for very kindly sharing the shop with me this year.

Sarah had some lovely pieces in the shop alongside me and is busy working towards opening the shop in the future, so definitely one to look out for!

For now, everything is packed away and it’s back to the workshop for me.

The sun is mostly shining in Wigtown this morning and I’m back in the shop for another day of the Wigtown Book Festival!

There’s plenty happening in town today, with Wigtown Market on as well as lots of great speakers and events for the second last day of the festival. Hopefully the good forecast will bring plenty of people out and about.

One of the nicest things about being in the shop during the festival is hearing everyone’s stories about the talks they’ve been to, the people they’ve met — and, of course, the books they’ve bought!
