Colouring Is Not Just for Children 🖍️

When life feels overwhelming, sometimes the simplest activities can make the biggest difference.

Colouring is not just for children. It can be a gentle way to slow down, take a break from overthinking, and focus on something calming and creative. The repetitive motion of colouring can help support mindfulness, relaxation, and emotional wellbeing, all without the pressure of creating a masterpiece.

In this post we explore how colouring may benefit mental health, simple ways to get started, and a few creative exercises you can try at home.

Sometimes a handful of pencils and a few quiet minutes are enough to help you pause, reset, and breathe 🎨✨

Quote of the day 🌿

This quote uses the image of a garden as a metaphor for life and personal growth. Just as a garden sometimes needs to be cleared, dug up, or completely redesigned before new plants can thrive, there are times in life when we need to let go of old habits, relationships, beliefs, or situations that are no longer helping us grow.

Starting over can feel difficult, messy, and uncertain, much like looking at a patch of bare soil before anything has been planted. However, the quote reminds us that meaningful change takes time, care, and patience. Even when progress is not immediately visible, growth is often happening beneath the surface. By trusting the process and continuing to nurture ourselves, we create the opportunity for something beautiful, healthy, and fulfilling to emerge in the future ❤️🌸

You’re not just colouring a picture, you’re giving your mind a place to breathe 🌿

Setting the mood, picking up the colours, and letting go of the pressure 🕯️✨
Tonight’s masterpiece isn’t just on the page,it’s the peace I’m creating within myself.

After a difficult period with my health, getting back into crafts has felt a little daunting 🫣

I made this small flower coaster for my lamp, and it reminded me that creativity does not have to be big, perfect, or finished quickly to be meaningful.

Sometimes starting again looks like one small project, one quiet moment, and one gentle step back towards something you enjoy.

✅ How to ease back into hobbies:

- Start small with a simple project.

- Choose something low pressure that does not need to be perfect.

- Use materials you already have to make it feel easier.

- Set a short time limit so it feels manageable.

- Focus on the process, not the outcome.

- Celebrate the fact you started, even if you do not finish.

Sometimes creativity comes back slowly, and that still counts.

POV: You thought healing had to happen in a therapy room.Sometimes it starts here instead...

The sun on your face, grass under your feet or a few quiet minutes with yourself 🧘🏻‍♀️🌱

Today’s Therapy Homework:

- Go outside 🌤️
-Notice 5️⃣ things you can see 🔭
- Take 1️⃣ deep breath 😮‍💨
- Remind yourself that surviving hard seasons is still progress 📈❤️‍🩹

As a therapist, I spend a lot of time reminding people that healing isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes it’s about slowing down enough to notice you’re already making it through 🌿☀️

In this post we explore different ways to show yourself kindness across different areas of your life. From emotional wellbeing and physical health to rest, boundaries, daily routines, and gentle self care, kindness towards yourself can look different from day to day.

Sometimes it’s slowing down, asking for help, resting, nourishing your body, or simply speaking to yourself with more patience and understanding. Small acts of self kindness can have a meaningful impact on both the mind and body over time ❤️

Choosing a healthier way of living has changed so much more than my appearance. Over time, exercise and learning what my body does and doesn’t tolerate has helped reduce bloating, improve my energy, and helped me feel more comfortable in myself again.

It’s been a long journey and not one with a finish line, but I’m proud of the progress, the consistency, and the healthier habits I’ve built along the way ❤️
