Had an awesome moment at Sage House when Ashton Manor manager Chloe and our activities coordinator Barry handed over our donation to the Sage House by Dementia Support team. We're super happy to support the amazing work Sage House does for people living with dementia and proud to have been part of it.

Sometimes it is not one big moment. It is lots of small ones.

If you are noticing changes in a parent or relative, here are some signs that might mean it is worth having a conversation:

• Repeating the same question in a short space of time
• Struggling with familiar tasks like making tea or using the remote
• Getting confused about days, times or places they know well
• Leaving things in unusual places
• Becoming withdrawn or losing interest in things they used to enjoy
• Getting upset or frustrated more easily than before

None of these on their own means dementia. But if you are seeing a pattern, it is worth paying attention.

Our Wellbeing Retainer Service is designed to spot exactly these kinds of changes early, through regular check-ins with someone who knows your relative's baseline.

If you would like to talk it through, we are here.

This week is Dementia Action Week, organised by the Alzheimer’s Society. We’re going to share what that actually looks like, not the brochure version, but the real, everyday experience. Because dementia doesn’t just need awareness; it needs action.
