Greater Manchester Training Hub We support a range of programmes, funding, placements and more! We are Greater Manchester Training Hub (GMTH).

We provide education and training to the Primary Care Workforce across Greater Manchester. We believe that working alongside other educational providers, we can promote primary care as the career destination for caregivers and healthcare professionals; and provide a vibrant and nurturing environment for anyone looking to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience. And being based across the Greater Manchester region, we’re passionate advocates for what makes the region so unique. Blending experience and dedication with a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. With a population of 3.2 million, Greater Manchester is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United Kingdom. Comprising the 10 metropolitan boroughs of: Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Wigan, and the cities of Manchester and Salford.

We have some wonderful news to share! 👏

Our very own Kath Arrowsmith, Chief Nurse at Greater Manchester Training Hub, has been presented with the Chief Nursing Officer’s Silver Award from NHS England.

The award was presented by Bridget Lees, Regional Chief Nursing Officer, and Jean Hayles, Head of Nursing and Midwifery.

This is a fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition of Kath’s dedication, leadership and contribution to nursing across Greater Manchester.

Today, we’re bringing together nurses from across Greater Manchester for our Foundations of General Practice Nursing Celebration Event.

The event brings together nurses currently undertaking the IDP programme and those who have completed it, providing an opportunity to share experiences, reflect on learning and celebrate achievements.

Last week, our team attended The University of Salford Health, Community and Life Sciences Careers Fair and the Manchester Metropolitan University AHP Employment Fair.

Both events provided a great opportunity to connect with students, hear about their career aspirations and share how Greater Manchester Training Hub can support them as they explore opportunities within primary care.

It was encouraging to see so many people interested in developing their careers in primary care.
