Sometimes we tell ourselves we need to understand everything before we can change it.
Why do I feel like this?
Why do I always react this way?
Where did this come from?
Why can't I stop thinking about it?
And while understanding ourselves can absolutely be valuable, sometimes we can spend so long searching for the why that we don't actually do anything differently.
Because often, it's the doing that teaches us something new.
You go somewhere despite feeling anxious… and discover you can cope.
You say no… and realise the world doesn't fall apart.
You stop avoiding something… and it becomes a little less frightening.
You try a different response… and notice that you feel differently afterwards.
You take one small step… and suddenly the next one doesn't seem quite as difficult.
Every new experience gives your brain new information.
So perhaps you don't need to have everything figured out before you begin.
Sometimes the insight comes because you made the change. 🧠✨
And that change doesn't have to be huge. One small decision to do something differently can be a very good place to start.
