Heading into the weekend…

For some, Friday brings that weekend feeling.

For others, it brings a different feeling.

It’s opening your phone and having nobody to message.

It’s seeing everyone else’s plans and wondering why nobody thought to ask you.

It’s wanting to go somewhere, but not wanting to walk in alone.

It’s staying home because going out by yourself feels harder.

It’s telling people “I’m fine” when the truth is, you haven’t had a proper conversation with anyone all day.

It’s being surrounded by people and still feeling like you don’t belong.

That’s isolation. And weekends can make it feel even louder.

This Saturday, 5th September, FREEA will be at Leigh RUFC. 🏉

If any of this feels familiar, come and find us.

You don’t need to know anyone.
You don’t need to explain why you’re there.
You don’t need to arrive feeling confident.

Just come over and say hello.

Leigh RUFC Saturday 5th September

TONIGHT AT FREEA: UNDERSTAND HER

Tonight we’re focusing on Understand Her taking time to understand ourselves, our feelings and the things we carry.

Sometimes we know we’re struggling, but we don’t always know why.

Tonight is about giving ourselves space to explore those feelings without judgement and without anyone trying to fix them.

You can talk, listen, reflect or simply be around other women who get it.

No pressure to share. Just a safe space, a cuppa and women supporting women

Come as you are. There’s space for you.

TONIGHT AT FREEA: UNDERSTAND HER

Sometimes being heard is only the beginning. Tonight we’re exploring Understand Her, part of the FREEA Method; creating space to understand what we’re feeling, what might be sitting underneath it, and what we need moving forward.

No judgement. No pressure. Just women supporting women.

Come exactly as you are.

NEW MONTH: NOT A NEW YOU.

It’s the 1st of September.

And your feed will probably be full of:

New month. New goals. Fresh start. Time to reset.

But at FREEA, we want to say something different.

You don’t need to become a new version of yourself just because the calendar changed.

Maybe August was brilliant.
Maybe you barely got through it.
Maybe September feels exciting.
Maybe you’re entering this month carrying exactly the same things you were carrying yesterday.

All of that is okay.

September doesn’t have to be about reinventing yourself.

It can simply be about taking the next day as it comes.
Asking for support when you need it.
Celebrating the little wins.
Making more room for yourself.
And remembering that you don’t have to do any of it alone.

So instead of “What am I going to change this month?”

Try asking:

“What do I need this month?”

Welcome to September.

Love FREEA 🤍.

For some, today is an extra day off.

For others, it’s an extra day to get through.

If today does not feel like a holiday, that’s okay.
No pressure. No pretending. No need to explain.

Whatever today holds, you do not have to carry it alone.

This week, we have two FREEA Peer Support Groups:
Tuesday Leigh RUFC 6:30–8:30pm
Thursday Bolton Arena Gym Bolton 7–9pm

But you do not have to wait until then. Our messages are open.
If you are struggling, reach out. Sometimes sending that first message is the hardest part.

Love,
FREEA x 🤍

Grief doesn’t always look like tears.

Sometimes it looks like carrying on.
Going to work. Making dinner. Laughing with friends.
Answering “I’m fine” because explaining how you really feel is just too hard.

And grief isn’t only about losing someone.

We can grieve a relationship.
A pregnancy.
Our health.
A friendship.
A future we thought we would have.
Or a version of ourselves that no longer exists.

There is no right way to grieve.
No timeline you should be following.
And no point at which you should simply be “over it”.

Sometimes you don’t need someone to fix it.

You just need somewhere you can talk, be heard and not have to pretend you’re okay.

Our peer support is completely FREE.

A safe space for women to talk, be heard and feel less alone including on the days when grief feels particularly heavy.

Today, on National Grief Awareness Day, we’re thinking of every woman carrying a loss that the rest of the world cannot see.

Your grief matters.
Your story matters.
And there’s space for your story at FREEA.

Sometimes, the most important thing is having a space where your story can be heard.

This week at FREEA, Hear Her is about making space for your experiences, your feelings and your story whatever that looks like for you.

You don’t need to have the right words.
You don’t need to explain everything.
And you don’t need to share more than you want to.

Come for a brew. Sit alongside other women. Share your story if you want to, or simply listen and be part of the space.

Your story deserves to be heard.
There’s space for your story here.

DID YOU KNOW?

FREEA is completely FREE

We provide safe, welcoming spaces for women experiencing mental health difficulties to connect with others, talk openly and feel supported woman to woman, without judgement.

Using the FREEA Method, our support is built around four simple principles:

Hear Her.
Understand Her.
Protect Her.
Free Her. We offer peer support, connection and appropriate signposting when additional or specialist help may be needed.

You don’t need a diagnosis.
You don’t need a referral.
You don’t need to explain everything.

Just come as you are.

FREEA: women supporting women.
Because sometimes being heard is where everything starts.

Sometimes, you don’t need someone to fix it.
You just need somewhere you can say, “This is how I’m really feeling.”
This week at FREEA, we’re creating space to arrive exactly as you are. No expectations. No judgement. No pressure to have the right words.
Come for a brew. Sit with other women. Talk if you want to. Listen if you don’t.
Your voice matters here.
