We have been asked to share this from Asthma and Lung UK but may be worth signing up to for lots of our patients and customers

This is a free service for customers who’d benefit from extra support before, during and after a power cut.

Ticks are active across Scotland - especially in the Highlands - and not everyone gets the bullseye rash. If you feel flu like after a tick bite, speak to your GP even if you don’t see a rash.

NHS Inform Scotland has updated its Lyme disease guidance (11 June 2026).
https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/lyme-disease

NHS Scotland has just refreshed its national Lyme disease page, including updated symptom descriptions, risk areas, and prevention advice.
• Clearer explanation that 1 in 3 people do not get a rash.
• Strong emphasis on Scottish Highlands as a high risk area.
• Updated guidance on early symptoms and when to seek GP help.
• Reinforces that tests can be false negative early on.

Pretty much anything can be a tic, so much so that there is no way we could list them all!
We have members with kissing, high fiving, and twerking tics, tics which join up and happen in a particular order, and even singing tics.
Some tics will appear once or twice never to be seen again and some tics will hang around and last for a long time.

We think the only predictable thing about tics is just how unpredictable they are!!

Check out our next post about Internal tics! Don't forget to share as much information as possible, especially this month!
