With it being the summer holidays, our July recruitment campaign has been rolled over into August and will close on 21/09/2026
We currently have applications for Harrogate and District Area, North Yorkshire and I am looking forward to shortlisting candidates and finding out which areas these new volunteers will be supporting.
However, we still need Community First Responders (CFRs) in the following areas:
📍Ripon
📍Harrogate
📍Thirsk
📍Pateley Bridge
Residents from villages between Harrogate and Pateley Bridge are welcome to join these schemes.

📍Thirsk
Residents from villages between Ripon and Thirsk are welcome to join this scheme.

Could you give a minimum of 20 hours per month (just 5 hours per week)?
✅ Do you have access to a car?
✅ Are you aged 18 or over?
If so, we'd love to hear from you and welcome you to our CFR family.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service is looking for Volunteer Community First Responders (CFRs) to help save lives across our communities.

As a CFR, you’ll respond to emergency calls in your local area, providing vital care in those crucial first minutes before an ambulance arrives.

✅ What you’ll need:

A commitment of at least 20 hours per month
Access to a car to respond to incidents
A full UK driving licence with less than 3 points

🎓 What we provide:

A comprehensive 4 day training course (delivered over weekends)
A suite of eLearning to support your development
Ongoing CPD and training opportunities
Bi-monthly scheme meetings for support, learning and requalification

💙 This is a rewarding and meaningful volunteering role where you’ll gain new skills, meet like minded people, and make a genuine difference to patients when they need it most.

But while many of us relax, our emergency services are still hard at work… and volunteers play a vital role in supporting local communities across Yorkshire.
