We hope all of our Wild Minds students are having a wonderful summer.

While you’ve been off enjoying the holidays, life at the farm hasn’t stopped. Your favourite faces still need feeding, mucking out, checking, cuddling and generally keeping out of mischief every single day.

They are all getting plenty of love 💕 Romany and Calliope are making sure they are getting lots of attention.

We know how important the animals are to so many of our young people. They’re part of the routine, the relationships and the sense of belonging that makes Wild Minds what it is.

Here’s a little hello from some familiar faces. They’ll be waiting for you when September comes around.

🐾 WILLOW IS LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME 🐾

Meet Willow, a gorgeous 6-month-old, medium-sized girl who came to us after finding herself in a situation where her future was very uncertain.

Since being with us, Willow has shown us just how much potential she has. She is bright, active and incredibly trainable. She loves learning, engaging with people and would be brilliant at activities such as scent work, tricks or agility.

Willow can be anxious in unfamiliar situations, so we’re looking for someone who understands that trust sometimes takes a little time. She needs a calm, patient and experienced home where she can continue building her confidence and become the fantastic dog we know she can be.

🏡 Willow is looking for:
• An adult-only home
• Someone with experience of anxious or sensitive dogs
• A patient, kind and consistent approach
• An active home where her clever brain can be kept busy
• Someone prepared to give a young rescue dog the time she needs to settle

We want Willow’s next home to be her forever home, so we’ll take time to find the right match.

It’s the summer holidays… so of course there’s room for a little rescue. 🖤🐾

This little girl is just six months old. She was at the vets to be put to sleep following concerns about biting.

Thankfully, the veterinary team felt she deserved another chance and reached out to see if we could help.

So, for now, she’s joining us as a foster, where she’ll have plenty of time and space to settle, decompress and be carefully assessed away from the hustle and bustle.

No expectations and no rushing her. Just a safe place, experienced handling and the opportunity to find out what this little dog needs.

Sometimes they just need someone to give them a chance. 🌿🖤

We’ll introduce her properly when we know her a little better.

Three things sit at the heart of everything we do at Wild Minds.

Notice the need. We take time to understand what a young person is carrying, what is getting in the way, and what they are asking for, even when they cannot put it into words.

Nurture the strength. Every young person we work with brings something valuable. We start from there, not from a deficit.

Build the future. Our work always looks forward. Towards confidence, connection, and a life they can feel genuinely good about.

Wild Minds accepts referrals for young people who require specialist, part-time Alternative Provision or post-16 support. Places are available for September with a rolling start. Share this link with your school or EHCO so they can complete the referral form directly: www.wildminds.pro/referrals

Farm life is not just horses and high fives.

Hercules, our Belgian Hare, is one of the quieter residents at Wild Minds but no less important. For some of our young people, it is the calm, considered moments spent observing and gently caring for animals like Hercules that make a real difference.

Consent-based, welfare-led interaction. Always.

There is no point trying to guide, redirect, or challenge a young person who does not feel safe with you yet.

This is not about lowering standards. It is about understanding the order of things. When a young person trusts the adults around them, they become open to learning, to trying, to getting it wrong and trying again.

Connection is always the first step at Wild Minds.
