We’re still on cloud nine! We're delighted to share that The CRUMBS Project only went and won Best Educational Programme 2026 [SME] at the Institute of Hospitality Annual Dinner and Awards 🥳

This award belongs to our phenomenal CRUMBS team and trainees. Together, we build an environment where everyone feels seen while encouraging one another to achieve amazing things within the hospitality industry.

This award is a real reflection of the passion, hard work, and enthusiasm across the whole CRUMBS community; we couldn’t be prouder. What an amazing achievement!

“Do you see me?” At The CRUMBS Project, this isn’t just a question for Learning Disability Week; it’s something we see answered every day.

We see trainees finding their voice. We see confidence growing in the kitchen and beyond. We see people stepping forward, making decisions, and sharing their stories.

Daniella told us: “When I raise my voice, people listen… I feel like people see me.”

Scott shared how much being part of CRUMBS means: learning, laughing, and feeling part of something.

That’s what this week is really about. Not labels. Not limitations. Just people being seen for who they are. But we know too many people are still not given the same opportunities. And that’s why we keep going.

This Learning Disability Week, stand with us. Follow, share, volunteer, partner - or simply take a moment to truly see the person in front of you.

We’re putting together a team for the Dorset Plane Pull 2026! 50 metres, 35,000kg, and a serious test of teamwork; the Dorset Plane Pull is a brilliant way to bring people together for some fantastic causes.

By joining our team, you'll have the opportunity to raise money for The CRUMBS Project. The money raised will enable us to continue transforming the lives of individuals in Dorset navigating barriers to their independent future - we'd love to invite you to be a part of something special.

A huge thank you to the six teams that joined us on Friday for Quiz Night; there were plenty of laughs and a bit of friendly competition along the way. Together, we raised £524, with another £100 to come through Gift Aid!

As always, our trainees were right at the heart of the evening - supporting the quiz, preparing food, and helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes. A big congratulations to our winners, The Cheeky Monkeys and to runners-up Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry.

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us; we loved sharing the evening with you. We'd also like to express our gratitude to TWO Services and The Hub on the Heath for their generous support with our Quiz Night Prizes.

🚶‍♂️ Keith’s Jurassic Coast Charity Challenge began this morning! 🌊

Ursula dropped off some flapjacks made by The Crumbs Project trainees to the brave walkers this morning. 🚶‍♂️🚶🚶‍♂️🚶

What a fantastic way to round off !

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome 7 amazing volunteers from Hays UK, who rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in from the moment they arrived. From giving one of our changing rooms a much-needed splash of colour to transforming our Kitchen Garden and Flower Beds, their enthusiasm and teamwork have made a real difference.

Volunteering projects like these keep our charity thriving, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the support of our local Hays UK volunteers.

A huge thank you to every one of you for giving your time to The CRUMBS Project; it was a pleasure to have you with us 💙

It continues to be a busy and exciting period at CRUMBS, but we couldn’t miss the chance to share this fantastic feature celebrating the growing partnership between Care South and The CRUMBS Project.

As many of you may remember, the team recently hosted an inspiring bread masterclass at the centre. It sparked real enthusiasm among our trainees and has already begun to open doors to future training and placement opportunities within Care South’s kitchen teams.

We’re thrilled to be featured on the front page of The New Stour & Avon (Issue 132)! You can spot some familiar faces and read the full story here:

The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we’re working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as and , hospitality communities like , and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.

Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.

Like, sign the petition and share this post – we need your support to reach a million signatures.
