This month, we’re introducing our brilliant Patient Services & Call Hub Teams.

They are often the first point of contact for patients, whether that’s at reception, over the phone or helping with day-to-day queries. They support patients with booking appointments, checking in, updating details, signposting to the right service and helping people access the care they need.

They also manage a high volume of calls each day, offering support, reassurance and guidance while helping services run as smoothly as possible across our sites.

It is a busy and important role, and they work hard every day to support both patients and colleagues. A big thank you to our Patient Services & Call Hub Teams for everything they do. 💙

Great news! The NHS is offering discreet home testing kits for cervical screening to millions of women across England. 🏠💗

This is being introduced as an additional choice for people who have not taken up previous cervical screening invitations.

If you normally attend cervical screening, please continue to book your appointment as usual. 👩‍⚕️🔬

Look out for your NHS invitation which may arrive through the NHS App, text, email or letter.📱

Early detection makes all the difference.

Are you a carer? You might be without even realising it.

A carer is anyone who regularly looks after or supports a family member, partner, friend or neighbour who could not manage without their help.

That support can look very different from person to person — from helping with medication or appointments, to shopping, daily tasks, personal care or simply being there emotionally.

Many people don’t see themselves as a “carer” because they’re simply helping someone they love. But recognising your caring role can help make sure you get the right support too.

If you are a carer, please let us know. Our team can record this on your medical record and help signpost you to support available locally.

💉 August is Immunisation Awareness Month!

Vaccines play an important role in protecting us throughout our lives — not just during childhood.

Depending on your age, health conditions and individual circumstances, you may be eligible for vaccinations including flu, COVID-19, shingles, pneumococcal, RSV, MMR and other catch-up vaccines.

If you’re unsure whether you’re fully up to date, or think you may have missed a vaccination, please contact your surgery and our team can help check your vaccination history.

📊 Our July activity figures are in!

July brought a spell of extremely hot weather, but despite the challenging conditions, our teams continued working incredibly hard to support patients across Shore Medical.

During the month, we provided more than 22,000 appointments, processed almost 40,000 prescriptions, took over 5,000 blood samples and responded to more than 14,000 online submissions.

Unfortunately, 934 appointments were missed without being cancelled. If you can no longer attend, please let us know so we can offer the appointment to another patient. You can cancel through the NHS App, submit a Connect form through our website, or call your practice.

A huge thank you to all our staff for keeping services running throughout the heatwave, and to our patients for their patience and understanding during another exceptionally busy month. 💙💗

This month, we’re introducing our brilliant Project & Digital Team.

The team help plan, coordinate and deliver improvements across Shore Medical, supporting new services, patient campaigns, clinical projects, operational changes and digital developments.

Their work includes helping teams make the best use of technology, supporting online systems and digital communication, developing reports and data, and helping turn ideas into action.

They work closely with teams across the organisation to make services more efficient, accessible and joined up for both patients and staff.

A big thank you to our Project & Digital Team for helping drive positive change and keeping Shore Medical moving forward. 💙

This July, we’re supporting Talk to Us Month — a reminder that talking can make a real difference. 💙

Taking the time to check in, listen without judgement and let someone know they are not alone can mean more than we realise.
