Have you ever felt like you've done all the right things after having a baby but your body still doesn't feel quite right?

Motherhood changes everything.

Not just your body.

Your routine changes.
Your priorities change.
Your confidence can change.

Sometimes you don't need another fitness programme.

Sometimes you need support, connection and a space that's just for you.

I've been working on something new that I'm excited to share very soon.

For now, I'd love to know:

What's one thing you wish you had more of as a mum right now?

Before becoming a mum, there was so much focus on preparing for the baby.

The nursery.

The clothes.

The birth.

The feeding.

The sleep.

The milestones.

And then baby arrives, and suddenly every appointment, every group and every piece of advice seems to focus on them too.

But what about you?

Your recovery.

Your strength.

Your sleep.

Your identity.

Your wellbeing.

I think many mums (myself included) lose a little bit of themselves along the way, and sometimes it can take months or years to reconnect with who we are outside of motherhood.

Did you ever feel like you lost part of yourself after becoming a mum?

I'd love to hear your experience.

Challenges of motherhood and something is coming next week.

When you're a mum, finding time for yourself isn't always easy.

That's why I often encourage mums to stop thinking of movement as something that only counts if it's a full workout.

Sometimes it's a class.

Sometimes it's a walk.

And sometimes it's a few squats while your little one enjoys the swings.

Small moments of movement still add up.

It doesn't have to be perfect to count.

Most mums expect their body to change during pregnancy.

What many don't realise is how many different systems are affected.

Pregnancy doesn't just change your bump.

It can affect:

• your breathing pattern
• your core muscles
• your pelvic floor
• your posture
• your joint stability

And these changes don't automatically disappear once your baby is born.

This is one of the reasons why some mums still experience symptoms months after birth, such as:

• leaking when they sneeze or exercise
• back pain
• a feeling of weakness through their core
• tension in the neck and shoulders
• discomfort during movement

It's not because they're lazy.

It's not because they aren't exercising hard enough.

Often, their body is still adapting to the physical changes pregnancy created.

As a Pregnancy and Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist, I look beyond individual symptoms and consider how breathing, posture, core function and movement patterns work together.

Because understanding the cause is often far more helpful than simply trying to push through it.

Did any of these changes surprise you after pregnancy?

Not every postnatal body recovers the same way.

Some mums need more than generic postnatal workouts or being told to “just give it time”.

This is exactly why I’m currently working on offering more individual postnatal corrective exercise support alongside my classes.

If your body still doesn’t feel quite right after pregnancy and birth, you’re not failing and you’re not behind, you may just need a more tailored approach.

Comment INDIVIDUAL if you'd like me to add you to the waiting list for upcoming 1–2–1 support.

Most postnatal exercise advice assumes every mum’s body recovers the same way… it doesn’t.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see in postnatal fitness is the idea that recovery should look the same for everyone once you hit a certain number of weeks postpartum.

But in reality, two mums at 12 weeks postpartum can have completely different:

core function
pelvic floor coordination
breathing patterns
energy levels
symptom load

This is why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to postnatal exercise.

Some mums thrive in group classes for motivation and movement.
Others need a more individual, guided approach to rebuild confidence and address symptoms like leaking, doming, back pain, or weakness.

Both are valid.
But they are not the same thing.

This is also why I’m currently working on offering 1–2–1 postnatal corrective exercise sessions alongside my group classes, for mums who want more tailored support.

If your body feels like it’s not responding the way you expected, it’s not that you’re behind, it may just need a more individual approach.

Comment INDIVIDUAL if you'd like me to add you to the waiting list for the upcoming 1–2–1 support.

Yesterday I was talking to a mum of 18-year-old twins and she said:
“Nobody warned me that after having kids you aren’t going to sleep. Ever. Again.”

And honestly… I think a lot of us, mums can relate to that.

What’s the one thing nobody warned you about after having a baby?

The recovery?
The mental load?
Feeling disconnected from your body?
Trying to find time for yourself?

I’d love to hear what surprised you most postpartum.

Autumn Term bookings are now open

My Autumn Term at Bullbrook Community Centre is now open for booking.

These sessions are designed to support your postnatal recovery in a calm, supportive environment where you can rebuild strength at your own pace.

Babies are always welcome, and there is no pressure to “keep up” or be at a certain level. You come as you are.

Whether you are:

returning to movement after birth
continuing your recovery journey
or rebuilding strength months or years later

you are welcome in class.

The focus is always on:

- strength
- core and pelvic floor recovery
- safe, progressive movement
- feeling stronger in everyday life

Most mums choose Full Term or Flexi 8 as they support consistency and progression, but you are welcome to choose what fits your current season.

If you’re unsure which option is right for you, just message me, I’m happy to help
