I went back and forth a little on how much of this I wanted to share.
But one of the things that has helped me most during the harder parts of this year has been hearing other people speak openly about what they’ve been through. There’s something incredibly humanising about realising how many of us are navigating things that nobody else can see.
So this is a little bit of mine.
Sound and meditation have been part of my life, and my work, for years. But experiencing them alongside everything I’ve moved through this year has deepened my understanding of them in a completely different way.
Not as ways to escape difficult feelings or make everything feel calm, but as practices that can give us somewhere to come back to. A way of noticing what’s happening, reconnecting with ourselves and being present for the life happening around us.
My own experience of sound through this time has also deepened the way I understand and facilitate it, something I’d like to share more about another time.
For now, I’m looking forward to everything that’s coming this autumn. More meditation, more learning, and lots more sound.
