Launch of a project for celebrating 250 years of Jane Austen

I created the visual identity for The Austens at the Abbey — a summer-long programme of exhibitions and events exploring Jane’s world and her family’s connection to the Abbey.

Deliverables included a logo and brand kit, poster and banner templates, and exhibition panels bringing Austen-era stories to life. A real honour to contribute to this iconic space and such a timeless literary legacy.

We’ve worked with Mokoko, formerly Jacobs, for over 12 years. Starting with its first cafe in Abbey Square as Jacobs, it evolved into Mokoko. Mokoko now has sites in Bath, Bristol, and Portishead. We supported Mokoko in its journey from a specialty coffee house to a bakery, and now its specialization in viennoiserie. Always embracing their independent spirit and authenticity, and not afraid to be playful or arty, we deliver multiple brand assets to retain its individuality, including bags, signage, coffee packaging, website design, and an online shop selling coffee products. Here’s a small selection from our archive.

Kind words from a Flipside client 😊
Handcrafted Mirrors is both a shop and workshop located in Bradford on Avon. It serves as an exciting hub of creativity, offering a diverse collection of mirrors to suit all tastes. The workshop, situated within the shop, is the heart of the business, where creativity and skills combine to produce one-of-a-kind, unique mirrors that stand out from those found on the high street

Handcrafted mirrors have an eclectic charm, which is attractive to customers but may become overwhelming when purchasing products. We added some structure to the shop layout to make the bricks-and-mortar retail experience easier to navigate by ordering the collections, implementing coloured walls, and creating clearly defined areas for the key mirror types: garden mirrors, modern mirrors, vintage mirrors, and bespoke mirrors. This structure then translated to the online shop and navigation. Fiona from Handcrafted Mirrors was also keen to focus on her passion for bespoke mirrors, so this is a prominent focal point on the website, with other mirrors being secondary on the journey.
