🚨 Staying ahead on event safety

Our Managing Director and Major Event & Resilience Manager recently took part in a tabletop workshop on drug use at festivals, hosted by Sheffield Council.

The session brought together partners from across the event safety sector to explore real-world scenarios, share best practice, and strengthen joint response planning for drug-related incidents at festivals and large-scale events.

At Mediqas, staying engaged with these conversations is part of how we keep our medical provision sharp, responsive, and aligned with the latest thinking in event safety and harm reduction.

🚑 A Reminder of Why We Do What We Do 💙

At a recent swimming event, our team responded to a serious medical emergency during the opening stages of the event.

Thanks to the swift actions, professionalism, and clinical expertise of our event medical team, the individual received immediate care and was safely transferred for further treatment. We were delighted to hear that they are now recovering and doing well.

Following the event, we received heartfelt feedback from both the participant and those around them, thanking our medics for their rapid response and dedication in what was a challenging situation.

While we never seek recognition, messages like these serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of having experienced medical professionals on-site at events.

On Monday morning, we received a call asking if we could support with providing medical cover in Barcelona.

Within just a couple of hours, plans were in motion flights and accommodation secured, equipment packed, and our team ready to deploy. A testament to the agility, commitment, and professionalism of everyone involved.

We were proud to provide medical cover for the On Squad Race World Series, set against one of the most incredible backdrops imaginable the historic Montjuïc Castle. With the Balearic Sea stretching out on one side and the stunning city of Barcelona on the other, it truly was a spectacular environment to work in.
