NHS England reports a record 2.44 million A&E attendances and 806,707 ambulance incidents in September, with flu and other respiratory viruses already circulating.

- Supply: eight live SSPs and a lacidipine alert.

Live SSPs cover lansoprazole 15mg and 30mg orodispersible tablets, ramipril 1.25mg capsules, Estradot 25, 50, 75 and 100 microgram patches, and Creon 25,000 capsules. CPE also confirms Tier 2 MSN/2026/046: lacidipine 2mg and 4mg tablets are out of stock until early November.

- Propranolol: review prescribing safety without overstating the position.

The GPhC, Patient Safety Commissioner, Royal College of Pharmacy and College of Mental Health Pharmacy have asked NICE to review CG113, including clearer advice on propranolol, which is not currently mentioned or recommended in that guideline for anxiety disorders.

Norgine is recalling MOVICOL Plain 13.7g batches 487069 and 474919 because some units contain incorrect amounts of active ingredients. MHRA instructs teams to stop supply, quarantine and return affected stock.
