🎗️ Zarmala | Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 🧸✨

Zarmala, from Peshawar, spent 16 days in intensive care at Shaukat Khanum in December 2023.

The second image shows her attending the hospital schooling programme. 💛

More than 75% of those receiving care at Shaukat Khanum are eligible for support through Zakat and other charitable donations. Thank you for making care like this possible.

🎗️ September | Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 🧸✨

As children head back to school, many will be proudly wearing their Imran Khan Cancer Appeal medals after taking part in one of our outdoor challenges over the summer.

Together, they helped raise awareness about the children receiving support at Shaukat Khanum in Pakistan, where more than 75% are eligible for Zakat and other charitable donations.

If you'd like to get involved, there are plenty of simple ways to make a difference during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month this September. Here are a few ideas championed by our wonderful supporters:

✅ Hold a bake sale at school, college or in your community, perhaps using dates and wholemeal flour as healthier alternatives
✅ Display IKCA leaflets at your business or workplace
✅ Keep an IKCA donation box on your desk or store counter

🌲🥾 Ben Nevis Challenge | Thank You

Thank you to over 40 supporters who joined us for our Ben Nevis Challenge in the Scottish Highlands last Saturday, including a team of doctors who travelled from Preston.

We received a beautiful message after the event from Dr Maqsood (pictured in a group photo wearing an IKCA T-shirt and holding a black hat). Here’s what he had to say:

“Thanks a lot to all the organisers and guides for their hard work and dedication. Special thanks to Shafiq Bhai, who helped my eight-year-old daughter, Salwa Khan (pictured in pink with purple glasses and proudly holding her medal), to reach and descend from the waterfall.

“It was a memorable and enjoyable hike. I thoroughly enjoyed it with my family. My two sons, Mohid and Mohsin, loved the hike and, above all, my daughter loved it and loved the medal, which is very precious to her.

“Thank you, Team IKCA.”

Ben Nevis brings our 2026 Three Peaks challenges to a close. Jazak Allah Khair to everyone who joined us on the hikes this year, we absolutely loved having you with us.
