This charity cycling event is to raise awareness and funds for Stage 4 cancer research and support.

Lynn’s chosen charity is Friends of Anchor. Friends of ANCHOR works alongside the NHS, striving to give every North-east cancer and haematology patient access to the highest quality care and support, and the best possible treatment, throughout their diagnosis.

Is your home blood pressure monitor accurate?

If you have your own blood pressure monitor and are registered with an Angus GP practice, you can have it checked, calibrated and replaced if required. No appointment needed, just drop in.

Upcoming dates:
Arbroath Library - Thursday 23rd July, 2pm–8pm
Montrose Library - Friday 24th July, 10am–4pm.

Free for anyone registered with an Angus GP practice who owns their own blood pressure monitor.

In January 2025 as part of plans to reduce NHS waiting lists the First Minister suggested turning Stracathro Hospital in to "Centre of Excellence" for certain elective procedures such as cataracts or orthopedics. He added that transport support could be provided to patients to access the facilities, if necessary.

It is now July 2026 and we have seen no progress towards this.

Instead of investment in this much needed County Hospital we are seeing reduction of services. MacMillan Cancer Support Centre is closed and I am told that Diabetic Eye Screening is now no longer to be held at Stracathro Outpatients, this will now be done at Forfar and Arbroath.

We cannot continue to accept the centralisation to Ninewells, which is not always easy for people to get to, parking is a nightmare and from Brechin & Edzell ward on the bus is approximately 4 hours there and back.

I have only heard two of our MSP's raise Stracathro Hospital out of our current crop of 8 MSP's which are Michael Marra MSP and Liam Kerr MSP.

If like me you are concerned about the survival of Stracathro Hospital no matter your politics please can contact our elected MSP's.
