We had such a lovely time on 's Eat My Brunch show!

Our Fundraising and Partnerships Manager, Nadia, joined the brilliant Michelle to chat all things Marillac: who we are, the specialist neurological care we provide here in Brentwood, and the incredible people who make it all happen every single day.

She also shared the many ways you can get involved, from fundraising and volunteering to local businesses partnering with us.

Every bit of support makes a real difference to our residents and their families, and we're so grateful to our community for getting behind us.

Cards on the table!

This week our activities team and residents sat down for a brilliant game of Newmarket.

The aim of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards, and to play the right queen, which wins you the money sitting on the matching king in the middle. Before the game starts, each resident puts 10p on one of the kings and 10p in the kitty. Whoever finishes first takes the kitty, and if any kings are left unclaimed, we play again!

Our residents took great joy in showing off their best poker faces in the race to be crowned winner!

Let's myth bust about the Marillac because it's not what people might expect inside!

When Debra first came to Marillac, she wasn't sure what to expect. From the outside, our historic building might suggest something potentially old-fashioned.

But step inside, and it's a very different story.

As Debra says, Marillac is bright, modern and full of life.

It's a place where you'll hear laughter in the corridors, see residents and staff spending time together, and feel a real sense of warmth and community. Neurological conditions don't have an age. They can happen to anyone, at any time, which is why our residents at Marillac come from all ages and walks of life.

Sometimes you just have to come through the door to see what Marillac is really about.

Teamwork makes the garden bloom!

Our residents love getting stuck in alongside our brilliant gardener Joe, and with the summer flowers still putting on a beautiful show, there's been no better time to get out into the garden together.

Gardening is so much more than keeping things neat. It's a chance to get some fresh air, stay active, share a laugh and enjoy that wonderful sense of achievement when you step back and see what you've created together.

Our garden is a space for everyone, and it's all the more special because so many hands help make it beautiful.

Before we know it the autumn leaves will be falling 🍂, but for now we're soaking up every last bit of summer colour!

We recently got together for a lively game of "Play Your Cards Right", it turned out to be great fun for all involved.

Days like these are what community at Marillac is all about, bringing people together, building connections, and making sure there's always something to look forward to.

Whether residents were seasoned card sharks or picking up the rules for the first time, everyone left with a smile.

🎄 Can you help make our Christmas Fayre extra special? 🎄

Soon we will be holding our Christmas Fayre here at Marillac where every penny raised will go towards our residents.

We're looking for local businesses and kind-hearted supporters to donate prizes for our raffle and tombola. Whether it's a voucher, a hamper, a bottle of something festive or a little treat, every donation (big or small) makes a real difference.

We had such a blast on Friday!

We were lucky enough to have a charity bingo event hosted in aid of us here at the Marillac. The evening was so much fun with lots of great prizes up for grabs (and a fair amount of singing along the way too).

We want to say a huge thank you to the team at for organising the event. We’d also like to thank for hosting and providing some yummy food as well as our headline sponsors for being such a huge support to us!

Lastly, thank you to everyone who came along, gave music bingo their best shot as well as donated to our cause. Every donation you make to the Marillac directly goes towards helping our residents.

At Marillac, we know that exceptional care starts with a supported team.

Recently, we launched our new staff wellbeing initiative and held the first of four staff yoga sessions.

The aim is to support and develop wellbeing across our team through events, activities and signposting.

Working in neurological care is demanding, both physically and emotionally. If we want our staff to consistently deliver the highest standard of person-centred care, we have a responsibility to invest in their wellbeing too, not just their professional development.

Three more sessions are planned this autumn, and we're proud to be building wellbeing into the everyday culture at Marillac.

Looking after our team is one of the ways that we can continue to offer our residents the best possible care we can.

What a wonderful treat we had at Marillac!

Music In Hospitals and Care came in to sing and play for our residents. We were very kindly donated 4 sessions from the Frank Litchfield Charitable Trust, we are so grateful for the opportunity to bring some live music into our hall!

There was a mix of classic songs as you can see in this short clip, as well as some newer hits (and a Spice Girls song thrown in for good measure). Quite a few residents joined in with the singing!

It's moments like these that remind us how powerful music can be, connection in a way that's hard to put into words but easy to see on everyone's faces.

We're so grateful to Music In Hospitals and Music in Hospitals & Care for giving their time so generously.

We always aim to keep our activities varied, engaging, and full of moments our residents truly look forward to.
