So, It’s been a long while since I last posted.

I want to start by saying I’m still here and still creating bits and bobs for folk. 💗

I had stepped away from socials for a looong time to focus on recovering and what that looks like, (and that’s not been straightforward, thanks for the crappy curveballs life has thrown) but creativity has remained a constant. Just in different mediums and at a much slower pace.

Although I’m still not currently handpoking, it’s something I care about immensely and I’ve been investing a lot of time to figure out what that realistically might look like going forward.

For now, I’m making art at a pace that feels sustainable to me, to be able to start moving forward, and sharing more of that feels like the right step after being away for so long, despite how much that terrifies me.

After a hell of a lot of reflection, I’ve made the incredibly hard decision to step away from tattooing and handpoke work for the foreseeable future.

The last few months have been some of the hardest of my life and I just need to heal.
saying goodbye to my beautiful Cupcake, who had been by my side for over 15 years. Losing her has left a huge hole in my heart and my daily life and I need some proper time to grieve.

Alongside that, my mental health is at an all-time low. I’ve struggled with ADHD, anxiety, and depression for a long time, and I’m currently not receiving the support or medication I need.
It’s been overwhelming trying to manage everything without the tools I need to feel stable and okay.

Financially, things have also become unsustainable. Despite doing everything I could—posting consistently, offering flash etc —my income has simply not been enough to support me. The stress and pressure has been immense, and it’s reached a point where I have no choice but to step back.

Handpoking has meant everything to me. It’s been my passion and my purpose, and I’ve poured so much of myself into it. But right now, I need to prioritise my health, my grief, and my wellbeing.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who’s supported me, booked in, shared my work, or simply sent kind words. You’ve helped me more than you probably know.

This isn’t necessarily forever—but it is goodbye for now.

I’ve rewritten this in my mind a million times over and am still struggling for the right words right now but I just wanted to update you on why I might not be so present at the moment.

Cupcake hasn’t been a well bean for a few months and after a follow up vet visit last week it was confirmed that the kindest thing to do for her is to PTS before illness completely takes over and leaves her undignified and in pain. She doesn’t deserve that.

We’ve spend the last few days taking her to her favourite places, surrounded by people that love her whilst being spoilt and pampered (she is eating like an absolute queen).

She has been by my side for the last 15.5 years and tomorrow afternoon I’ll have to say goodbye for the final time.
She’s been my world since I was 21 and I don’t know adult life without her in it so I’ll be taking some time away to process and grieve this massive loss and try to navigate the impact it’s going to have on me so I appreciate everyone bearing with me at this difficult time, and to thank everyone who has been a part of cuppys epic journey. It’s been beautiful 💗

The brief was medieval cat illustration but with a ruff and with the same markings as my clients beautiful cat Peter 🐱

Handpoke from today for a lovely lady which is Based off of the Beautiful Astrala hangman tarot card.
We had to change a few details to make it tattooable but these were minor as I didn’t want to take away from the symbolism of each individual part.

The design depicts a man hanging upside down from a gallows (upside down eye), stripped of his worldly persona (the earth) and suspended from his daily life and activity. This card symbolizes the necessity of retreating from the world in order to potentiate a shift in perspective on one’s life. ✨✨

These are all available/repeatable designs and are roughly 2” in size so would also work well as gap fillers. (Just like mine!)

A space in appointments meant I got to Handpoke this sparkly little sad flower gap filler on myself!

I’m loving this beautiful weather but with it comes the hay fever and that’s never a fun time. Especially as I’d escaped most of my adult life hay fever free until a few years ago when I had my first experience of it and it just hasn’t gone away again!
I didn’t have a clue you could develop it in later life but I obviously wish that wasn’t a thing (or hayfever as a whole really).
Where are all my piriton pals at!!?? 😅

So that’s two best friends getting some meaningful lettering and having some previous tattoos (not by me) fancied up! I actually remembered to include a before photo this time too 😅
