We're still getting lovely messages about Leila's play, AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIVERGENT.

It raised £875 for the Foundation in the end, which is brilliant.

Cath summed it up better than I could: "A nice balance of comedy, drama and seriousness... If ever there was a time for this piece to be out there, it is now!"

That's exactly why we want to get it into schools, so young people can see what being neurodivergent actually feels like from the inside. Watch this space.

Thank you again Leila, Molly, Patrick, Samuel and Fabian.

Calling all employers 💛 Train your team in Mental Health First Aid and help young people at the same time. No More Exclusions Leeds have published a report on school exclusions and su***de in children, written after the death of a 12 year old boy in Leeds.

It brings together the research on what happens to children who are pushed out of school. It's hard reading, and it's important reading.

This was Henry on his first day at secondary school. At 17, Henry was permanently excluded from his college. We know what it means when a struggling young person is let go instead of supported.

No child who is struggling should be excluded without someone first asking how they're doing, and whether they're safe.

At the Hope Awards on Thursday we were shown the letter from the person who nominated us.

Reading it in that room, with Henry's photo up on the big screen, meant a great deal. It ends with a line we'll hold on to: "Thank you for providing hope to others."

That's what we're trying to do, every day, for boys and young men who think and feel differently.

Thank you to the person who nominated us, whoever you are, and to for sharing it with us 💛

Seeing Henry's face up on the big screen at the Hope Awards on Thursday night stopped me in my tracks.

Breaking the link between ADHD and su***de. That's why the Foundation exists, and it meant a lot to see it up there in a room full of people who understand.

We didn't bring the award home, but we came away with new friends and plenty of hope. You can find out more about what we do at henrygrierson.org

It's World Mental Health Day, and we want to talk about the boy who seems fine.

You'll know one. He's at school, he's gaming, he answers "fine" to everything and he's gone upstairs before you've finished the question. With ADHD in the mix, "I'm alright" often becomes the easiest way out of a conversation that feels like too much.

So our ask today is a small one. Ask how he's doing. Then ask again, another way, another day. In the car, walking the dog, over a takeaway. Boys often talk side by side far more easily than face to face.

It won't always get an answer, but he'll know he can come to you.

If you're worried about someone right now, or about yourself: Samaritans on 116 123 (free, any time), text SHOUT to 85258, NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.

The big ADHD and autism review came out today, and most of the headlines are about over-diagnosis.

The review says the rise in young people struggling is real, and that getting help shouldn't depend on getting a diagnosis first.

Henry had his ADHD diagnosis from the age of nine. It didn't get him the help he needed when it mattered most. What matters is someone noticing a young person is struggling, and doing something about it, label or no label.

So yes to earlier help, in schools and communities, where young people actually are. Let's just make sure "you don't need a diagnosis" means more support, not less.

We didn't win last night, but what a night it was.

We spent the evening at the Hope Awards in Leeds in the company of so many people doing good work in the world of su***de prevention. Being shortlisted for the Innovative Mental Health Programme or Campaign Award, six months after we registered as a charity, was something we're really proud of.

Congratulations to all the winners and finalists, and thank you to for a brilliant evening. Thank you too to our trustees and volunteers who came with us. We wouldn't be here without you. We'll be back.

We're at the Hope Awards in Leeds tonight. We've been shortlisted for the Innovative Mental Health Programme or Campaign Award, which isn't bad for a charity that only registered in April.

Some of our trustees and volunteers are coming with us, and we wouldn't be there without them. Thanks also to everyone who has shared a post, come to the play, bought a ticket or sent us a message.

Thank you to for having us. Fingers crossed for later.

It's the first day of ADHD Awareness Month.

A lot of what gets said this month will be about what ADHD is. The parents we hear from already know. What they're short of is what to do next, this week, while the waiting list doesn't move.

So that's what we'll share through October: one practical thing a week. Getting an assessment. What helps at school. Talking to your son when he's shut the door on everyone.

ADHD doesn't just make school harder. It makes everything else harder too, and that's why a mental health charity cares about it.

If this is your family right now, follow along, and please share it with someone who needs it. Every piece will be on our website as it goes up: https://henrygrierson.org/blog/adhd-awareness-month-2026-what-we-are-doing

Need to talk to someone today? Samaritans 116 123 (any time), text SHOUT to 85258, or call NHS 111.
