We are so proud to announce that our Executive Director, Mark Santos, has been appointed an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours.
This honour recognises Mark's extraordinary commitment and leadership — but as Mark himself says, it belongs to everyone who has been part of the Positive East journey.
"The real honour has been working alongside the incredible staff, volunteers and trustees of Positive East, and playing a small part in improving the quality of life for people living with and affected by HIV.
More than that, I see it as a recognition of everyone who has been part of the journey: the people we have lost to HIV (and carry with us in our hearts); the people who are struggling to live well with HIV ( and need our continued support); the people thriving; and the staff, trustees, volunteers, supporters and funders of Positive East who make the charity’s life-changing work possible every single day.”
At Positive East, we say we are not done yet.
- We are not done while too many people are still struggling to live well with HIV
- We are not done while people continue to face stigma, inequality and isolation
- We are not done while too many are still being left behind, despite all the progress and the good news about HIV
If you would like to be part of that journey, please join us. Fundraise for us, make a donation, volunteer your time, take action and lace up on 21 November for the World AIDS Day RED RUN or simply help spread the word.
Together, we can ensure that no one is left behind.
In solidarity
