Piriformis syndrome is when the piriformis muscle in the buttock is putting pressure on the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is the longest and largest nerve in the body. It travels from the low back, down through the buttocks, back of the legs and into the feet.
The pressure on this nerve causes pain in the buttock, down the back of the leg and sometimes into the foot. It can also cause back pain. You don't have to live with this pain, you can take action - I have many great massage techniques that can ease and eradicate sciatic pain that pair very well with simple stretches for you to do at home to help take control of this painful situation.
