They say digestion can start with your eyes - that the presentation of food can influence a person’s perception of taste…..
Today - I ate with my eyes, for my eyes 👀 following laser surgery last week, I’ve increased foods with eye-loving nutrients - and make sure they look good too!
☘️ watercress/spinach/rocket - beta carotene/vit A for eye health
🍅 tomatoes - lycopene-rich, an antioxidant that can help protect against UV damage
beetroot - nitric oxide to improve blood circulation
🥕 carrot - more beta carotene for the eyes 👀
🐟 sardines - omega 3 anti-inflammatory
🌰 nuts & seeds in the bread - omega 3 again, fibre for gut health
🫒 olive oil - all the omegas for inflammation, and skin/collagen health
🫘 houmous - because I like it!
