You can’t hate yourself and become someone you love 💔

You can’t force yourself to be better in some way, because you deem yourself unacceptable in your current state ❤️‍🩹

You can’t create abundance from a space of lack 🦠

You can’t blackmail or trick your nervous system into believing it’s safe to change if you’re living in an unregulated state.

All change, acceptance, abundance, etc, simply flourishes and grows because you allow it to take form, you allow it to take shape around who you are right now💐

You plant the seeds of change in every moment of tenderness and care you show yourself. In every sweet word and loving gaze you lay upon yourself 🪷

You are the soil that needs to be tended, fed and turned, so that life can flourish. An earth full of the seeds of possibility and desire🌞

So what space are you creating from? What are you mixing into your soil? What is it you wish to grow?

Yesterday was my dad’s birthday. He passed many moons ago and yet yesterday was a big day of grieving for me.

It’s funny how grief comes back around, rising to the surface only when we’re able to deal with it. Our body knows what we can handle and lets the pressure out bit by bit, over time 🌋

Every time it spirals🌀around is another chance to go deeper and peel off another layer.

Just a big onion 🧅 with arms and legs…

As I have been spending a lot of time alone in nature, getting reacquainted with my magickal self (IYKYK), I find that I have less distraction keeping me from the grief and pain that I usually fight so hard against. My modus operandi for most of my life relied mostly on resistance to make it through 😮‍💨

But how cool is it that the our neuroplastic brain 🧠 can be reshaped and our nervous system rewired.

Our hurt can be alchemised into a message of hope and healing.

How cool that these healing tools (holistic health and somatic work, trauma therapy, shadow integration, etc) exist and we get to experiment with them.

From one 🧅 to another, sending love and hope, and help if you need it

This is obvs funny but so many people do it - not listening to their basic impulses!

Do you eat when you’re hungry, drink when you’re thirsty, rest when you’re tired?

Or do you keep pushing through waiting till you’re exhausted, dehydrated, bursting to go to the loo?

The big stuff is harder to handle if we don’t have the basics down and learning to listen to our bodies starts with these basic everyday bodily urges and messages - learning to track our impulses.

If we want a different life, to feel different, to create a different outcome for ourselves, to rewrite our destiny, we have to do things we’ve never done 🛑

We can only heal if we break the cycle of habits that are keeping us stuck and suffering.

Where are we being dishonest with ourselves about the things we are doing consistently that are keeping us in a self destructive cycle?

Where are we blaming others and not taking responsibility for our own situation?

Where are we inadvertently CHOOSING to suffer by not making any changes or by simply doing what we’ve always done?

Amen to that 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Dorsal Vagal or shut down is a tough place to spend our time! [save post]

Everything is hard, hopeless, hollow.

It’s the body’s deepest protective mechanism and helps to conserve energy, that’s why it comes with fatigue, low motivation, sleep, etc. It’s basically hibernation 🐻

It’s doubly hard to be in shut down in our society because eeeeeverything tells you it’s not ok to feel this way and or need rest.

But If you do ever feel this way (and it’s natural to loop in and our of this state, usually between shut down and anxiety/activated state) know that it’s a normal process and there’s a good reason for it.

Some ways to help you come out of shut down, just like a bear coming out of hibernation:

- slow movement/swaying/stretching
- yawning/humming/sighing/singing
- changing temperature (holding/drinking hot or cold drinks, opening the window and getting fresh air, cold water in face, cold showers, holding a hot water bottle)
- getting outside
- rapid breathing
- talking or seeing friends
- watching your favourite show

There’s no way around it. Rest is essential for healing.

Yes sleep is important but on the same level, rest throughout the day is necessary.

I’m talking minutes of mindfulness, seconds of softness… to give the nervous system a chance to regulate.

These pockets of pause are the chance to take back what’s yours, to gather leaky energy, to calm nerves, to build resilience and inner peace.

Creating the right environment for healing to bloom.

Gift yourself these moments. Often.
