Meet David: It's satisfying to be an active contributor in making someone happy and putting a smile on their face through little acts and moments of care and compassion. It's even more satisfying to share these moments with someone who might not have the capacity to repay your act of kindness.
A delightful and most rewarding role hinged on service to humanity that brings out your real essence...love, patience, kindness, compassion and impact.

Meet Beth: Being a carer with Alpha May is such a rewarding job because I get to support people and make a positive difference in their everyday lives! I love getting to know the people I care for, learning about their hobbies and interests, while building relationships with them and helping everyone feel happier and more independent. Every day as a carer can be different, but that is what I personally love about it. It’s great knowing that the support I give to everyone can make such a positive difference to their day. I am so proud to be a carer!

Meet Cherie: Hi my name is Cherie, I have worked for the same company for over 13 years, my job has been challenging at times, but with care and understanding of the Service Users I've worked with it brought an understanding of different disabilities that aren't visible! It's brought patience to me personally and with our online training a lot more understanding of different needs and different methods of care for each service users.

Meet Shaun: For me personally, care has changed me in so many ways, I have learned to put other people’s needs above my own and it has made me a much calmer, more considerate and kind individual.

I believe care allowed me to find my true self and I am grateful I tried it because despite some very challenging moments it is the most rewarding job I’ve ever done, and the little moments when you’ve really got through to one of your service users make it all worthwhile. And we’re never short of a few laughs either!

Meet Francisca: Being a carer is something I genuinely enjoy because every day is different, and I get the opportunity to make a positive difference in someone’s life, even in the smallest ways. I support people living with dementia, learning disabilities and autism, and I really value getting to know each person as an individual, understanding their needs, preferences and personality.

For me, it is not just about providing care, it is about giving people dignity, patience, respect and making sure they feel safe and supported. The relationships I build with the people I care for are what make the job so rewarding and knowing that I have helped make someone’s day a little better is what I enjoy most about being a carer.

Francisca xx❤️

"Personal care" is a term you'll hear a lot — but what does it actually involve? 🤔 It can include support with washing and bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication reminders, always delivered with dignity, respect, and a person-centred approach. It's not just about tasks — it's about understanding someone's needs, preferences, and pace, and supporting them in a way that feels comfortable, not clinical.

That's why we bring care to your doorstep — helping you remain where you feel safest and most comfortable. Our carers come to you, fitting around your routine, not the other way around, so you can maintain your independence while getting the support you need.
