Today’s leg sleeve cover up tattoo design 🦅

Two powerful birds in motion, designed to flow naturally with the shape of the leg and completely transform an existing tattoo underneath.

Cover up tattoos are one of my favourite challenges. The goal is not just to hide what was there before, but to redesign the entire area so the new piece feels intentional, balanced and powerful on the body.

This custom bird tattoo was drawn specifically to follow the natural lines of the leg, using feather detail, movement and layered composition to break up the old tattoo underneath.

I absolutely loved tattooing this detailed kite bird of prey. The layered textures, fine feather detailing and depth throughout this piece are exactly the kind of work I love creating at Gilded Cage Tattoo Studio. Wildlife tattoos like this allow me to focus on realism, movement and intricate linework, which always makes the process so rewarding.

Bird of prey tattoos are powerful symbols, representing freedom, vision and strength. This kite design was all about capturing that sense of motion and sharp elegance through carefully built shading and texture. I cannot wait to see this piece fully healed, the detail is going to settle beautifully into the skin.
