What’s the difference between an e-file manicure and a combined manicure? 💅

Have you ever wondered which type of manicure is right for you?

✨ E-file manicure is performed mainly with a nail drill and special bits. The cuticle and surrounding skin are carefully refined without using scissors or nippers.

✨ Combined manicure combines e-file techniques with scissors or nippers. The cuticle is first prepared with the drill and then carefully removed with a cutting tool when needed.

Both techniques can give a beautiful, clean result. The best option depends on the condition of your cuticles, skin, nails, and your individual needs. 🤍

That’s why I always choose the technique individually for each client.

What to do if your nails have become thin? 💅

Thin, weak nails can appear for different reasons: mechanical damage, improper removal of coating, frequent contact with water or chemicals, or lack of proper care.

✨ Avoid peeling or removing the coating yourself.
✨ Keep your nails at a comfortable length to reduce the risk of breakage.
✨ Use cuticle oil regularly and moisturize your hands.
✨ Protect your hands from household chemicals by wearing gloves.
✨ And most importantly — choose the right strengthening treatment depending on the condition of your nails.

Nail shapes: it’s not just about aesthetics.

The right shape is determined by the natural nail plate, the length, the condition of the nails and, most importantly, the proportions of the client’s hands and fingers.

Here are the main shapes:

• Square — straight sidewalls and a straight free edge. Looks especially clean on longer nail beds and works beautifully with structured designs.

• Soft Square — a square shape with softened corners. One of the most versatile options: visually neat, but more practical for everyday wear.

• Oval — follows the natural curve of the fingertip. It visually elongates shorter nails and creates a soft, elegant silhouette.

• Almond — tapered from the sidewalls toward a rounded point. One of the best shapes for visually lengthening fingers.

• Coffin / Ballerina — tapered sidewalls with a straight free edge. Best suited to medium or long lengths and gives a more architectural look.

• Stiletto — dramatically tapered with a sharp point. Requires sufficient length and a well-balanced structure to remain both aesthetic and durable.

• Squoval — a combination of square and oval: straight enough to keep the structure of a square, with rounded corners for a softer appearance.

A professional shape is not simply chosen from a picture. It should be adapted to the anatomy of the natural nail and the client’s lifestyle. The same shape can look completely different on two people — and that’s exactly why correct proportions matter.
