We're coming up on the end of November now.😱

It's almost December, Christmas music is starting to play everywhere, holiday parties are creeping closer and we're sometimes forced to look back on the past year at the goals and resolutions at the start of the year.

💛Did you meet your goals?

💛Did you "fall off" with your goals?

💛Did you straight up quit?

There's SO MUCH pressure that can come with reflecting on these things, especially if things didn't go to plan. But you know what makes it easier? Takes some of the anxiety away?

Grace. Understanding. Community. A plan.

Just because you might not be where you THOUGHT you'd be with that goal, doesn't mean you should throw the whole goal away🙅🏽‍♀️!

As long as there is still breath in your lungs, there's still a chance to go for it sis. Don't give up on your goals just so you can always wish you hadn't!

If you're being real with yourself, how much of your anxiety and overwhelm is coming from you trying to be someone you're not?

Trying to live in a way that doesn't align with your values?

Saying yes or maybe to things you KNOW in your soul you really want to say no to?

Stop wasting your energy trying to be someone else. YOU are the only you, and that is incredibly sacred. Don't waste that!

Anxiety & Overwhelm, meet the morning light.

Morning light, do your thing and remind us that today is a new day, that beautiful miraculous things exist, and that practicing gratitude can unlock real joy!💛

Anxiety and overwhelm are real, ESPECIALLY with the state of the globe right now BUT they don't have to control every second of every day.

The time of day that you're likely to have the most control over is first thing in the morning before life starts to take over. Use that time (even if only 10 mins) with the morning light to intentionally pray, meditate, practice gratitude and you'll be guaranteed to have at least a few moments in your day that aren't riddled with anxiety or overwhelm...and a few is A LOT better than none! ✨

I HAVE GOOD NEWS! 😬

You don't HAVE to be in a full fledged physical/mental breakdown before you start to take action to get yourself in a better state.

Awareness is absolutely 🔑KEY🔑 in catching yourself when you're on the PATH to burnout, before you actually get to the DESTINATION of burnout. You can turn around and go back the other way!!!

This is something I like to remind women when they are fed up with staying stuck where they are but also have some fear around growth.

Growth is hard. There's no way 'round it, it's just the way it is. It can be messy, ugly, depressing and not knowing what you're doing can be really scary and frustrating.

But you know what else can be really scary and frustrating? Looking at your life, not being satisfied, happy or fulfilled where you are...and then being in the exact same place a year or 5 or 10 from now.

It's literally up to you and no one else whether you'd rather be uncomfortable and stuck, or uncomfortable and growing. You get to decide that! How empowering is that?? 😍

Some juice to start your week off right! 💛 A couple weeks ago I talked about how I was stressed and struggling to navigate some of life’s challenges from this new level of myself. I had to fight really hard not to let the old Mikhaila creep in and take over because she would’ve had me bulldozing my own boundaries, building a new wall and ignoring how the way I was dealing with my feelings would eventually lead to physical pain, anxiety, panic attacks...🥴the whole 9.

Here’s the thing 🤷🏽‍♀️ a lot of times when we feel uncomfortable our initial thought is to do whatever we can to make it stop. We don’t want to feel the feels, work through the mess, learn through the process. The gag is, that’s how healthy resilience is built. That's how we grow and level up.💪🏽

I had to really take a step back and remind myself to be gentle with me. I had to remind myself that life is a wild journey where the learning never ends. We are all figuring things out as we go along no matter what anyone’s IG tries to trick you into believing.

Each new level you reach will require you to relearn and retrain so that you don’t fall back into the unhealthy patterns you worked so hard to overcome. Yeah there will be off days, but you don’t have to unpack and live in them. Pick your chin up, remind yourself who you are on the inside and keep trekking, friend! We got this! 🙌🏼

🎉💛🤩💃🏽1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY 💃🏽🤩💛🎉

Last year on this day I officially graduated as a Certified Holistic Wellness Coach. 🎉Woohoo!

Since that day I’ve (in no particular order):
🎉started a business during absolute global chaos
🎉become a member of the UK Health Coaches Association
🎉created 3 separate coaching programs
🎉met lots of awesome women with businesses
🎉gotten engaged to my best friend
🎉started Crossfit training at Valesco
🎉been a source of support for 40 women
🎉received coaching by some awesome peers
🎉started Space For Her - a free Facebook Support Group
🎉gained more self-confidence
🎉served on a panel for Elevating Wellness in the Black Community
🎉started training to be a Master Coach
🎉hosted virtual workshops despite a fear of public speaking
🎉finished my first Tough Mudder Classic

Most of the things on this list are things I literally NEVER thought I could do, so looking back on them all is putting me in my feels! This is exactly why we need to take the time to reflect, appreciate and celebrate our wins! We’re so good at overwhelming ourselves with things that make us feel bad and downplaying our achievements. Let’s work on overwhelming ourselves with the FEEL GOOD THINGS!!! 🥰

Being miserable is tiring, and being tired is miserable!

If you've ever been either of those things (which I know you have unless you're a robot), you KNOW this is the truth.

Do yourself a favour today and do something that'll make you laugh! Some ideas:

😂 watch a stand up comedy
😂 talk on the phone to your funniest friend
😂 watch old home videos
😂 tickle fight with someone (only if they consent)
😂 water balloon fight
😂 go face first down a slide
😂 fake laugh until you real laugh

After you've done that...PLAN YOUR SLEEP THIS WEEK! (shakes finger)

You know yourself. You know how much sleep you need to feel good. Put it in your diary and make yourself a sleep appointment every night for the rest of the week.

You wouldn't cancel on your eyebrow lady, imma need you to not cancel on yourself either. Thanks, love you, k bye ✌🏽

Ever been in that situation where you’re counting down the minutes and seconds til you can go home and end your day and go to bed just to wake up the next day and start counting down again as soon as your feet hit the floor? 😰Not to mention chugging cups of coffee just to keep your eyes open and keep you putting one foot ahead of the other?

🥴I’ve been there. It’s actual trash.

The hard thing though is that when you’re on that hamster wheel, it’s tough to notice that you’re on it because the only option you can see is “keep going”.

You know you can’t keep going on like this but you do it anyway. Every. Single. Day.😰

You think you’re fine running on 5 hours of sleep every night. You’re probably not “fine”.🤷🏽‍♀️ Your body has simply adapted to what you’ve given it, and it’s doing the best it can with what it’s got. (2 snaps for our resilient bodies dealing with the crap we put them through)

You might think being tired all the time isn’t that big of a deal but it’s much more than just feeling tired. Driving after operating on 5 hours of sleep for the whole week has similar effects to driving with alcohol in your system.

You’ve also got less access to the smartest parts of your brain. You find it harder to regulate your emotions and you end up suffering with a lower mood, you’re more likely to snap at other people, overeat because you need the energy from SOMEWHERE, you’re less creative and your ability to make good, solid decisions takes a real hit. 🥴

I realised how badly my exhaustion was affecting me when I stormed off from a client I was caring for at my old job. 😰 TOTALLY out of character! I was normally really patient and empathetic with him but I’d reached the end of my rope and that was the wakeup call I needed that something had to change.

I needed to get more serious about getting better sleep because feeling exhausted all the time was literally making my life MISERABLE!

So I know I’m a Holistic Wellness Coach and all that but you would’ve noticed I don’t often talk in detail about nutrition. 🤔 That surprises some people, but for me that’s just not my (loquat) jam. There are SO many other professionals who are really educated in nutrition, love it a lot more and are absolute bosses at what they do.

I know the importance of having a healthy balanced diet, but quite frankly I’m not interested in helping other people with creating a balanced diet plan that is optimal for them and I actually love that for me.🥰 Don’t get me wrong, I can definitely support my clients when it comes to choosing and implementing food HABITS that make them feel great in their bodies and minds (that’s the HOLISTIC part of the wellness coaching lol), but what that means is I get to focus more on the things that I know I love and the areas I know I can best serve other women. 💛

Honestly, I’m probably not the best coach for you if your main goal is sorting out your eating & drinking habits, but I can be an AWESOME coach for you if you:
✨are tired of being exhausted everyday
✨feel like you’re not living in your true purpose
✨are a burnt out headless chicken who can’t get off the hamster wheel no matter how hard you try
✨need to learn how to love yourself more genuinely
✨need to break up with your people-pleasing tendencies
✨have sucky personal boundaries
✨are always drained and can’t figure out why
✨can never find the time to do things for you
✨are a perfectionist who stresses over super basic things
✨lack confidence which holds you back from the life you want
✨are slow at making decisions or can’t manage your own emotions day to day and feel all over the place all the time...

💛THAT IS MY JAM!💛

So no...I’m not going to shove myself into a box and try to fit in with the nutrition focused coaches because I’d rather focus on my own super powers. But still...drink your water and what not. 🤗
