Sometimes the therapist needs treating too! 🙌🏼

Tonight I took some time for a bit of cupping therapy on myself — helping to ease some of the muscular tension I’d been carrying and giving my body a chance to recover after a busy week.

Cupping uses controlled negative pressure to lift the superficial tissues and can be a useful addition to a wider treatment and recovery plan. Those temporary marks are completely normal and should gradually fade over the following days.

It’s easy to focus on looking after everyone else, but therapists need recovery too! 💆🏼‍♂️

🏏 Pre-season prep is key 🏏

Recent client came in with right shoulder pain as he prepares for the start of the cricket season. Alongside his sport, he also works a desk-based job, which has contributed to a build-up of tension and poor postural stress over time.

Assessment highlighted significant tightness through the rhomboids, trapezius, and rotator cuff muscles — all essential for shoulder stability, control, and performance in cricket, especially with repetitive throwing and bowling actions.

Treatment involved a combination of deep tissue massage and cupping therapy to:
✔️ Reduce muscular tension
✔️ Improve tissue mobility
✔️ Increase blood flow to the affected areas
✔️ Support overall shoulder function

💬 Post-treatment, the client has already reported a reduction in symptoms, which is a great step towards getting him ready for the season ahead.

🎯 The goal now: continue to build resilience, improve movement, and keep him performing at his best when it matters most.
