๐ŸŒž Enjoying the Summer Bank Holiday

Long weekends are a wonderful opportunity to spend time with family and friends.

If you're visiting an older loved one, it's also a great chance to check in and see how they're getting on. A conversation today could help you spot if they may benefit from a little extra support around the home.

Whether it's companionship, help with daily routines or more specialist care, we're here to help people continue living safely and independently.

Kath, one of our live-in care customers, had a great day out at the heavy horse show yesterday, with a trip organised by Angela ๐Ÿด

Days out like this are all part of life with live-in care: getting out, trying new things and enjoying the things you love, with the right support alongside you.

Here are just a few ways companionship care can help:
๐Ÿ’™ Enjoy a friendly chat

Shepherd's pie on the menu today at Kath's ๐Ÿฅง

Kath is one of our live-in customers, and cooking together is a regular part of her care. Small moments like this matter, staying independent at home means still doing the things you enjoy, in your own kitchen, in your own time.

Live-in care is all about that: real support, woven into everyday life.

Supporting our local community ๐Ÿ’™

We love being part of events that bring people together in our local community.

Over the last few months, weโ€™ve been providing first aid support at the Love Thornbury events on Thornbury High Street, helping local families enjoy the markets, food and entertainment knowing that first aid support is there if needed.

Milika has been attending the last two events and recently received this lovely feedback from Sandy at The Swan, who helps organise the events:
โ€œYour lady that attends the event is amazing, she is so so lovely.โ€

Itโ€™s lovely to see our team getting involved in the community beyond the care they provide every day. Thank you, Milika, for representing Bluebird Care South Gloucestershire and being part of Love Thornbury.

Weโ€™re looking forward to continuing to support the events throughout the year. ๐Ÿฆ

What does companionship look like? ๐Ÿ’™

It looks different for everyone.

For one person, it might be enjoying a cup of tea and a chat. For another, it could be a walk in the park, a trip to the shops or spending time doing a favourite hobby.

Companionship care is about supporting people to continue enjoying the moments that matter most, while staying connected to their community and maintaining their independence.

Sometimes, it's the simplest moments that have the biggest impact.

โš ๏ธ It's hot. Check in.

During a heatwave, a little extra care can make a big difference, particularly for older people who may be more vulnerable to the effects of hot weather.

If you have an older loved one, neighbour or friend who lives alone, take a moment to check in.
๐Ÿ’ง Encourage them to drink regularly
๐Ÿก Check they're keeping their home cool
โ˜€๏ธ Make sure they're avoiding the hottest part of the day
๐Ÿ“ž Give them a call to see how they're feeling

Sometimes it's the simplest things that matter most.

If you or someone you care about needs a little extra support at home, give us a call to find out how we can help.

โ˜• A cup of tea can mean so much more.

For many of us, sharing a cup of tea is part of everyday life. But for someone who lives alone, that simple moment can become an opportunity to chat, laugh, reminisce and feel connected.

This Afternoon Tea Week, why not take some time to enjoy a cup of tea and a scone with an older loved one, neighbour or friend? It doesn't have to be a grand gesture, sometimes the smallest moments make the biggest difference.

At Bluebird Care, we see every day how meaningful companionship can improve wellbeing and help people continue living independently at home.

If you'd like to find out more about our companionship care service, give us a call today. We'd be happy to answer your questions and discuss how we can help. 01454 323624

Nobody wins in care by competing. We win together through collaboration.๐Ÿ’™

Every new relationship we build strengthens the network around the people who rely on us.

A big thank you to Tudor House Care Home for welcoming Jenny Gold to visit. We're excited about our partnership ahead and everything we can achieve together for our local community.

Because we know when care providers, healthcare professionals and community organisations work together, everyone benefits.

That's the kind of community we're committed to building.

A huge thank you to Jenny from Bluebird Care for coming to visit our beautiful home today. ๐Ÿ’™

We're so excited to be working with you and to continue developing our relationship. We look forward to building a strong partnership and supporting one another.

Here's to exciting times ahead! โœจ

Celebrating Community at the Yate Ageing Better Festival ๐Ÿ’™

Last week, our team enjoyed being part of the Yate Ageing Better Festival, meeting so many wonderful people from across our local community.

Ageing well is about more than just care. Itโ€™s about staying connected, enjoying new experiences, and knowing that support is available when you need it.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand for a chat, asked about care at home, or came over to say hello. It was also lovely to meet so many local organisations and community groups who are helping make South Gloucestershire a great place to live.

A big thank you to Yate Town Council and everyone involved in organising such a welcoming event. Weโ€™re already looking forward to being part of it again next year!

Thank you to Jenny, Suresh and Cheryl for representing Bluebird Care South Gloucestershire on the day. ๐Ÿ’™
