Do you spend ages on the toilet before leaving the house? Or check where every toilet is before you go somewhere new?
These habits often start as ways to manage IBS. But sometimes they become so automatic that we never stop to ask whether they're actually helping. That doesn't mean you need to stop all your routines overnight. Sometimes these can also make your life much easier, allowing you to work, socialise or exercise.
Think about:
➡️ What am I worried will happen if I don't do this?
➡️ Is this helping me live my life?
➡️ Could I make this habit just 5% smaller?
Small experiments can teach you more than hours of worrying. Which one of these habits do you recognise in yourself?
A - Online research
B - sitting for too long
C - repeated ‘just in case’ trips to the toilet
D - feeling like supplements are your life
E - skipping meals to minimise symptoms
