One year ago Paige Andrews joined Today Care as our very first employee ❤️

Back then, Today Care was only just starting its journey, with big dreams, long days, and a vision of building a care company centred around compassion, dignity, and community.

Over the past year, both Paige and Today Care have grown together. From being our first member of staff to now being part of a team of 15 amazing people, Paige has been there through every stage of the journey.

Thank you, Paige, for your hard work, loyalty, kindness, and for believing in us from the very beginning. Your support has helped shape Today Care into what it is today, and we are incredibly grateful to have you as part of the team.

Today Care is at it again, bringing life-saving first aid skills into the South Gloucestershire community ❤️

In partnership with Age UK South Gloucestershire, we are proud to continue our FREE Senior First Aid Awareness Sessions again this year, helping people feel more confident about what to do in an emergency.

We were honoured to be invited by the Ladies Club at Little Stoke Baptist Church to deliver another engaging session filled with practical advice, important discussions, and real-life emergency guidance.

A huge well done to Sergiu Cristian Pop for delivering another fantastic talk and helping members of our community learn skills that could one day save a life 👏

These sessions are all about bringing the community together, increasing confidence, and helping people stay safe and supported.

Such an amazing day supporting Age UK South Gloucestershire at their Charity Golf Event! ⛳️

We were proud to sponsor and take part in such a fantastic community event alongside so many great people and local businesses.

The scariest part of dementia isn’t always memory loss—it’s losing the sense of being needed."
When someone we love is diagnosed, our first instinct is to protect them. We say, "Don’t worry about the cooking," or "I’ll handle the bills." We mean well, but "subtracting" these roles can make them feel pushed out of their own lives.
The most powerful shift we can make is Substitution instead of Subtraction.
When a task becomes too difficult, don’t just take it away. Find a way they can still contribute: If cooking is unsafe , ask them to wash the vegetables or set the table.
If money is too complex, let them sort coins or organize receipts.
If they can’t drive, ask them to be the "navigator" and help plan the route.
If they can’t clean, ask them to fold the towels or pair the socks.
The goal isn’t perfection; it’s purpose.
People living with dementia still need to feel useful, respected, and involved. When we focus on what they can do, we reduce the anxiety and withdrawal that comes from feeling sidelined.
Dementia changes abilities, but it never erases the human need for meaning. Let’s keep them at the heart of their own story.
