Before today is over, take a moment to notice something that went well.
Our minds are often very quick to collect the things we didn’t finish, could have done differently or want to improve. Today, I’d love us to make space for something positive instead.

It might be that you:

🧡 Made time to move
🧡 Listened to what your body needed
🧡 Tried something that felt challenging
🧡 Rested without feeling guilty
🧡 Simply got through a difficult day

Complete the sentence in the comments:

Something I did well today was…

No achievement is too small, and no explaining it away! You can also share your reflection on The Positivity Wall through the website or Fit by Wix app.

I notice this so often in class.

I give someone a compliment and, almost immediately, they explain why it isn’t true, point out something they could have done better or brush the kind words aside.

But accepting a compliment doesn’t make you boastful. It simply allows you to recognise something positive about yourself.

Next time someone compliments you, try pausing before you explain it away. Take a breath and simply say, “Thank you.”

No justification. No shrinking the moment. No explanation needed. 🧡

What compliment are you choosing to accept today? Share it in the comments or add something positive about yourself to The Positivity Wall through the website or Fit by Wix app.

A little challenge for you this week: accept one compliment without adding “but…” afterwards.
No correcting them.
No listing what went wrong.
No comparing yourself with somebody else.

Just choose one of the responses in this carousel and allow the positive words to stay with you.

It might feel uncomfortable at first, but positive self-talk takes practice too. 🧡

Swipe through, choose the response you’ll try and let me know which one feels most natural to you.

How often does someone pay you a compliment, only for you to immediately explain it away?

Perhaps you tell them it was nothing, point out what went wrong or quickly change the subject. Accepting kind words can feel surprisingly difficult, but it’s something we can practise.

In my latest blog, I’m exploring why we struggle to accept compliments, recognise our progress and speak positively about ourselves.

Have a read, then tell me: what is something you’re proud of today? 🧡
