EDB combines the worlds of Ecstatic Dance, diverse dance music and sound system culture with prayer and mindfulness.

Using the practice of Ecstatic Dance we create a held space for you to express, expand and experience rejuvenation through movement, dance and sound. The experience is a modern day ritual where the communion of people, movement and sound serve as mediums for transformation, liberation and soul invigorating celebration. Our community gatherings are sober and suitable for all ages, abilities and peo

What a day!?

On Sunday, eighteen brand new DJs stepped into for their very first play and what unfolded can only be described as the most powerful day of my life.

It was so emotional to witness and hold space for each student to share their soul through sound.

To mentor a group of students and then witness all of them shining their talent and passion was profoundly moving. For the closing, tired but radiant, we placed a candle in the centre of the dancefloor, joined hands and danced together in a circle as the final DJ played. It was immense. We closed in prayer and felt deep awe of what had happened.

And then the alchemy continued. We transformed the venue and welcomed 150 people through the doors for Beltane Bloom. “It was a portal of pure joy, love and bliss. We all danced like crazy and immersed in laughter, community love, as well as deep moments of emotional processing and release.” To close we gathered and weaved our voices together embodying powerful prayers, celebration and joy. And somewhere between the laughter and the tears, something in all of us bloomed.

A special thank you to for capturing some of these beautiful photos. Miles came to the very first Ecstatic Dance Bristol seven years ago and he’s been with us every step of the way since. He shared: “In my humble opinion, holds the most spectacular ecstatic dance in all of the UK.”

Coming from someone who has walked this path with us from day one, those words land deeply. It is the community that has grown together over years of showing up, opening up and blossoming into more truer versions of ourselves.

A deep, deep bow of gratitude to EVERYONE that has been part of this journey🙏

The man, the myth, the legend!

Kyle Rose has been part of since the very beginning. It’s always an honour and a privilege to welcome him onto our lineup. An artist who brings such deep magic and mystery with his live flutes and music.

Today is Earth Day and this year’s theme is Our Power, Our Planet. A reminder that caring for the Earth isn’t something we wait for governments to do. It happens in the small, daily choices we make. In the way we gather. In how we move through the world together.

This Sunday we gather at for Beltane Bloom. A co-created collective prayer of music, dance, movement and ceremony. For ourselves, for each other, for the wider community. A prayer for courage, aliveness, beauty and togetherness as we keep showing up in these times of great transformation.

This is our offering on Earth Day. Not only action today, but an ongoing practice of returning to the body, to the land, to community, to the wild aliveness of being here.
