Hello!
How was the half term? How did you cope with the heatwaves? If you are back to your routines, how are you feeling about it? What are you finding inspiring today? What is feeding your senses? The summery spring breeze on your face? The changing scents of flowers as you walk down the street of terraced houses? The new song that you discovered? That herb mix? Beautiful sunsets of Bristol?
Stay tuned, I’ll share my new booking account soon!

This autumn will mark the 10th year anniversary of my ever growing journey as a complementary therapist with my speciality in the art of holistic massage therapy where I compose sessions with the passion of helping people who suffers from mental and physical stress. I particularly love working with upper body strain of mums of babies or small kids, individuals with eye related problems and desk workers. I am also qualified by MTI in Ayurvedic Indian Head Massage covering all these areas perfectly.

I hear it at least once in a week or two, the client may have heard or been thinking there is ‘no pain, no gain’ in massage therapy. I tell them that I don’t believe so. First they may not like my reply but at the end of their session, they tell me that they feel better, relaxed and they ‘feel the difference’ which may the tightness is released, the ache is dissolved, that they are feeling more mobile…

This podcast put my thoughts into words so well that I decided to directly referred to their video. (I have no rights or connections to the video or the platform. I agree with the content in the video for professional qualified, registered and insured massage therapists)

If you are not up for checking the video don’t worry at all and please read along here to find out more:

1. Deep breathing during the session
The good breath work of both the client and the therapist will allow a deeper relief to tense muscle, most likely to resolve the tension, though it may require multiple sessions

2. Working together with the clients mind and body for better results
As a therapist, I am constantly present and work with you, creating the best possible massage in the day

3. Listening to and giving feedbacks on how it is going both for you and your therapist
We are not the same every day, so communication instead of assumptions

4. What the client may expect vs what their body may need
As a massage therapist apart from my body work skills, I am there to inform and guide you during our consultation. Therefore I offer a free 5 mins extra phone or video consultation to check in

5. How the environment and the start and finish of the massage therapy session affects the whole and holistic experience

What I write here are my personal thoughts and words on my massage therapy sessions.

Bottom line is I don’t believe in ‘no pain, no gain’ in holistic classical massage therapy including deep tissue massage therapy and (most probably in many sports massage therapies unless a highly qualified and experience sport massage therapist need to work on a particular issue or injury treatment)

welcome back to my page.

Here is one of the many lovely feedbacks I receive at Thermae Bath Spa . I publish this here to share that for me every client I meet is a new universe and I respect that very moment and use it purposefully, even I may not see them again. Massage therapy can change our way of thinking, movement and self care positively for a life time. I am a natural advocate to promote this art and respectful profession on every opportunity.

If you can create time from 10-2pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, contact me for a free phone or video consultation.

In the meantime stick to the basics:

1. Good hydration
2. Deep breathing techniques when you wake up and before sleep
3. Gentle daily stretches of around 5 mins at least, keeping active as much as your abilities allow you. (I can sign post you to other professionals or resources on this)

Best wishes,

Burcu
